ˇ 2 pachages dry yeast
ˇ Shortening (1/2 cup)
ˇ Sugar (2/3 cup)
ˇ Eggs (2 beaten)
ˇ Flour (6 cups)
ˇ Salt (2 tsps)
Instructions
ˇ Dissolve 2 packages of dry yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Let sit until you need it in the recipe.
ˇ Boil 1 cup of water
ˇ Pour water in large mixing bowl adding 1 cup shortening and 2/3 cup of sugar (heat of water will dissolve them)
ˇ Add 2 beaten eggs, 1/2 cup cool water, yeast mixture and stir.
ˇ Mix 2 teaspoons of salt into the 6 cups of flour.
ˇ Add flour to the liquid mixture. (It is easier if you do it 2 cups at a time.)
ˇ You can either cover and refrigerate or let rise in a warm place till double. (Depending on if you want to make the rolls later or if you want to make them right away.)
ˇ Knead dough and roll out (1/2 dough at a time) to 1/4 thickness. (On floured surface.)
ˇ Cut with round cutter and crease with table knife (figure a)\
ˇFold in half and place on greased cookie sheet.
ˇ Let rise about an hour
ˇ Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minute
