GAME

Once you have the hang of what skills are required its time to rearrange your stats. If you type score stats you will see that they are all currently set to 13. Yet all guilds require different stats, therefore you have the option to rearrange them with the rearrange command to suit your needs. It is best to ask people on your guild channel what stats they have, and although no two people will have the same, it will give you an idea of what is important to your guild. Just remember that once you have done it, you cant change your mind (well you can, but it takes alot of time and money). You can augment you skills with various items that can be obtained in quests, and the travelling shop is also a good source of such items (assuming you can find it and have lots of money)

Don't you get sick of typing get all from corpse all the time? Well there is a way to simplify that using aliases. You can type alias gafc get all from corpse, and from then on you just type gafc to do it. You can alias anything you do all the time, and people even alias travelling between locations. Help alias will tell you how to do it, and for complex ones you will have to use ealias to edit them.

If you are accessing Discworld with a method that supports colours then you can use the colour command to set your own colours, help colours will show you what's available and how to do it.

A fun way to interact with people is the use of soul commands, for instance if you are in a room with someone and type tickle <name> then they will giggle. You can wave to someone, hug them, kiss them, womble them, the list is huge. To see the list type look at soul. A similar thing is emotes and remotes where you can type out sentences that work like soul commands, but these are high skills that you have to earn in quests, but they are well worth getting.

Pets can be fun, and are bought in the pet shop on God St, or dragons can be obtained just n of the east end of Elm St. When you buy your pet you receive a licence for it, which you occasionally have to show to it to remind it who's boss. Also if you loose your pet and you have your licence, just log off then back on and it should come back to you. Also if you give your licence to someone else and they show it to the pet then it becomes theirs. Be aware that pets can be killed by other players, most people don't but you do get the odd meanie on the disc.

You will soon find out that you can only carry 20 items in your inventory even if there only little ones that don't weigh you down. Speaking of which you can type weigh <item> to see how much they weigh, and score shows if your burdened or not. Weight is important as the less strength you have the less you can carry without being burdened or reaching your limit. Also when your burdened it lowers your dexterity which is important if your an assassin or a thief. To carry more than 20 items you need a container of some sort such as a backpack or satchel. You can buy them in various shops round the place, and then wear them and put stuff in them. I have aliases made up eg: alias ib put $*2$ in backpack, you then type ib item and it will put it in for you, I of-course have a get one as well as a look one. You will also find that lots of clothes have pockets and you can buy a wallet for your money if you want. Speaking of money, the mud does have npc feefs, so it's best to put your money away in a backpack or pocket. And you will know if an npc steals off you, as they always leave a receipt.

When you look at an item you will see what condition it is in, and as the condition goes down so does its effectiveness and it can get to the stage where it will break and you will loose it. Another way is to use the command condition all damaged. Clothes can be fixed by putting them on the Temple of Gapps small altar, though how long this takes depends on your faith points. If you have some craft skills, you can also use a needle and thread to mend clothes, though they may be difficult to obtain. Weapons and armour are fixed in a forge, the most used is 2 w then n of the Drum. You need to be skilled in crafts.smithing.black and get the fix command which you can learn off another player when your crafts.smithing is 10. Leather gear such as a backpack can be fixed in the leather shop in The Plaza of Broken Moons with the leatherwork command, which needs 10 levels of crafts.materials to get.

You can only learn so much in your guild before you have to get other people to teach you. The higher their bonus in the skill, the less xp it costs you to learn. A real high player is Lanfear who will often teach in Brother Davids (which is a safe haven 11s 1e of drum) and announce it on the talker. She has an automatic trigger set up so that you can just tell her what to teach you and she will. Type refer lanfear to see how to do it and what skills she can teach and also what skill levels you need to learn certain commands, which is handy to know.

When you look at someone you will see a description of them, which is basically the same for everyone to start off with. However you can type describe edit and change your description. When you do just remember it will automatically prefix what you type with he or she, so take that into account when you type it.

Type monitor on to see your hit points and guild points during combat. You can buy healing vials in the shop in the Temple of Small Gods which you can drink in combat to heal yourself. You can also buy bottles of healing tea from witches or player shops. You type drink 2/100 from bottle (replace 2 with another number depending on how good the tea is). One problem with tea is that it cant be used in combat as it will be knocked out of your hand. Also the effects arn't instant, which is can be used in your favour, you wimpy, drink lots of tea, then go back into combat, and the tea will still be healing you while you fight.

You can use the inform command to see when people log on and off and also see birthday notices.

Earmuff is used to block a channel such as the newbie one, or emotes and soul commands. You use ignore if you only want it to apply to one character.

Well grasshopper, that is all I can teach you and it is time for you to go out by yourself into that big nasty disc to seek your fame and fortune, so good luck and remember to always wear clean underwear and nice socks! :-)
