TRAVELLING
TO
DISCWORLD
Your first port of call should be the Official Discworld MUD page. There you can read the rules and other boring stuff that no-one bothers with, but for some strange reason often comes in handy. Then when your ready you can go to the start playing discworld link. It offers you three ways of playing, telnet which is really basic, the java client which is a bit better, and finally the mud clients which are the best option for the serious mudder as they give you things like lots of pretty colours. There is a wide selection to choose from, but my personal favourite is zmud. Zmud does have one slight problem for the discworld player though, as its default background colour is black, and guess what colour most of the discworld text is in :-) However this is not a problem, once you have logged on to discworld you go to the view/preferences/colours menu on zmud, then click on the black box next to windows background then select a colour from the bottom row of selections, personally I prefer grey, but its up to you, then select apply and ok and you should now be able to see things.
Ok, I've logged onto the discworld server, now what???
