For those of you who have not seen this film, I think (if you are anything like me) that you are making a big mistake. I enjoyed watching it because the comic strip was done so well, they reproduced it quite closely, and it wasn't hokey like most comic films. The acting in this film was decent, or good, or downright awful. Stephen Dorff (Deacon Frost) was evil and sensual in his role as the villain. Wesley Snipes (Blade) was a thrilling sight, athletic and strong in his character acting. The visual effects were disgusting (thats good for this kind of movie), due to the blood, guts, and other horrific displays. In general I give this movie four Smiles out of five. You are probably wondering why it is not higher if I enjoyed the film so much. well, I had to frown at one point. The actress they got to play one of the leading ladies was too much like barbie(tm) to be tough, and I got the impression that she would be laughed at rather than feared. A better actress could have convinced me that she was bad enough to be the big chick on the block.
Rated: R.
Not suitable for people 16 and under. Gory, very violent. My kind of movie. :)
