Saving my cousin’s kitten

Once I went to my cousin Tommy’s house. I went into their backyard. I saw their kitten. I asked my cousin Tommy if I could hold the kitten. He said, ”Yes.” When I held the kitten I didn’t hold it tight, so it ran quickly up the tall maple tree. I tried to tell the kitten to come down. But it wouldn’t because it was so scared.

I had to scream really loud so my little cousin Tommy could hear me. When he came, he asked,”What happened?” I told him to look up and he asked,”What should I do?” We both were thinking and thinking until it was almost dark. I told my cousin Tommy that I had an idea.

I told him to give me a tall, strong latter. He ran quickly to get a latter for me, and when I climbed up the latter the kitten moved up higher; then I slowly climbed up the latter so the fluffy kitten wouldn’t go up higher. I tried to get her, but it was trying to scratch me. So I tried to get her by grabbing her back. When I got her by the back I climbed down but the kitten’s claws were on the tree’s trunk. I got a hold of its feet and pulled its feet away from the tree. I climbed down and I gave it back to my cousin Tommy. That day was a very difficult day. I was happy that it ended and I was glad that the kitten was safe.

Acrobats

Little girls swing on silver bars,
Sparkle like little stars.
They swing a mile,
And come back with a happy smile.
