Chapter Eight

"Hey! Come on get dressed, it's just me and you tonight" JC said nervously. Both of them knew there was something wrong with the other. She nodded. JC left her alone to get ready. About an hour had passed and JC was pacing nervously around the living room. "Remember, JC, the guy's will meet you at the club at 11:00" Lynn said trying to get JC talking. He nodded. She had noticed the tension between her niece and JC, " Don't worry, JC. I've seen the way you two look at each other. Ther'es something special bewtween you two, don't let her slip from beneath your grasp. something like that doesn't come along everyday." *Meanwhile, upstairs* Sammy could hear part of a conversaton between Aunt Lynn and JC. She snuck a look downstairs. JC was pacing nervously around the living room. "Remember, JC, the guy's will meet you at the club at 11:00" Aunt Lynn said trying to get JC talking. He nodded. She had noticed the tension between her niece and JC, " Drop the act, JC. I've seen the way you two look at each other. There's something special between you two, so admit it you're falling for her." JC gave Lynn a confused look "Don't let her slip from beneath your grasp. Something like that doesn't come along everyday" She continued. Sammy felt her heart beat faster as Aunt Lynn said the words, she couldn't deny it anymore, she had a thing for JC. Ever since the beginning, So why didn't I notice it earlier? She thought to herself. *Cough Cough* She saw JC and Lynn's head spin towards her. JC looked kind of embarrassed. Wo w, she looks great, JC thought, Maybe Lynn was right, "Ready?" She asked JC. "Looks like someone took an hour again," He teased "Yeah, I'm ready." She gave him a "watch it" look. There were a chorus of "goodnights" and then JC and Sammy finally made their way to the car. "What have I done to you?" She asked curiously. "Wait on second thought don't answer that," She said as JC began to answer. JC laughed and smiled when she opened the door. She and JC had a weird connection, they could both tease each other forever and the other didn't seem to mind. "JC actually opened a door for a lady...I'm surprised" JC gave a her a hurt expression. Was she falling for JC? Was JC really falling for her? Now she was more confused than ever. After dinner, the two decided to take a walk. It wasn't 11:00 yet, so they wanted to kill time by walking. "Something, else isn't?" She said staring at the moon. The two had been walking along the beach line, and had stopped when Sammy said that. "Sure it is, but why stare at that when I can stare at you?" He said daringly. Sammy just blushed and smiled. She continued to stare at the moon, she couldn't face JC knowing that she felt the same way about him. He turned her around to look her in the eyes. She stumbled and fell right into JC knocking the both of them down. Sammy looked up at JC, only to find him watching her. He saw a strand of her hair streaming down the front of her face. He took his hand and pushed it behind her hair. Now is the time to be daring, Chasez. he thought. He leaned over and gave Sammy a kiss. She could feel his lips on hers and realized what was happening, she quickly pushed herself up and walked towards the car. What are you doing, Sammy, this is what you wanted right? Whatever this was or will be is a rebound, he just got out of a relationship and you just got out of a relationship. Forget about him you are leaving soon enough. 2 days as a matter of fact. After a while of regretting not spending enough time with Justin, she saw JC finally coming towards the car. She looked away, after everything that had happened between the two of them, she felt too embarrassed. They drove in silence to meet the guys at the club. Everytime, Sammy worked up the courage to look at JC and had made eye contact with him, he would quickly moved away. They finally reached the club she opened the door and went inside leaving JC there alone. *In the Club* Justin saw his long-lost cousin come through the doors of the club, he swiftly made his way over to where she had sat down. " Hey Cuz, care if I join you?" Justin said coming up from behind her. "Sure go ahead, it feels like I haven't been spending anytime with you this whole vacation, and you wouldn't happen to know why that would be happening would you?" Justin just looked down at the floor. He knew she was right, but he didn't want to distance JC and Sammy. He, like evryone else, knew about their feelings for each other. "Oh, and don't tell me that you wanted JC and I to get closer," She said reading his mind. This made Justin look up sweetly, "I don't know what you're talking about." "Oh, I think you do, Justin" "Now, would I do a thing like that?" He asked "As well as I can remember you, yes you would." She said laughing, "Now if you'll excuse me, I think I have to go to the bathroom" She said as she made her way to the bathroom. She din't notice Stephanie coming up from behind her, "So how was dinner?" She asked pulling out her makeup. " Huh? What? Oh, dinner was fine," She answered with no variation in her voice. "OK, spill it all, girl," She said. "Dinner was fine...I wouldn't or couldn't say that about after dinner" "Why? What happened?" She asked curiously. She saw no sense in lying to her best friend, "After dinner, we took a walk along the beach line, and we get to talking and he compliments me about how I looked, then I turned around to go to back to the car, but he grabbed my arm and turned me around. Then Before I knew it he was kissing me." She saw Stephanie's mouth drop open. "Wait, I'm not finished yet, I got up and quickly and made my way to the car, and he wouldn't talk to me the rest of the ride." Stephanie saw tears on their way out of Sammy's eyes, so she quickly enveloped her in a hug. "I'm so sorry, I thought that you two were made for each other, I guess you just aren't ready yet" She said expertly. "Come on Sammy, come outside with me and have a good time." She said convincingly. She nodded.
