Chapter Four

"Stay in touch my ass." I told Casey over the phone later that night "We had the most boring conversation ever!"

"Oh c'mon Trish, what'd you expect? You just met, you have to go through the awkward process before becoming friends."

"But we talked so easily at the hospital," I protested.

"That's cause you were so desperate to have someone to talk to."

"True..." I trailed off just to be interrupted by Casey.

"Oh, turn it on channel 29. This is the music video I was the extra in."

I got up and looked around the room for my remote to see Casey's acting debut. Casey was the aspiring actress and got to be in some video that was shot here in Toronto a while back.

'But it ain't no lie Baby bye bye bye'

The music filled the room as I patiently waited for Casey's face to appear on the screen.

"Oh my god" I said as I stared at the screen. I heard Casey giggle on the other end of the phone.

"Don't I look goofy?"

"I am going to kill him!"

"Kill who?"

I didn't answer her partly because I didn't hear her. I just continued staring at him, singing, he didn't even tell me.

"Trish, Kill who?"

"Oh, sorry," I snapped out of it. "Oh nothing, I was just thinking out loud, you look good Casey! You shoulf have agents calling you now no problem"

I hung up with Casey after a while and quickly dialed his cell number. I didn't tell her who I was going to kill because she would either freak or not believe me, and I didn't feel like listening to either at the moment.

"Hello?" I heard him answer. I was pretty sure it was him because he has a rather distinctive voice.

"Tsk tsk tsk Mr. Bass."

"Who is this?" He asked, sounding slightly amused.

"Well, you tell me, you seem to like leaving out rather important information."

"No, seriously," He laughed. " Who is this?"

"It's Trish," I told him. " How are you today Mr. Nsync?" I stressed the last word.

He laughed good heartedly and finally spoke. "I'm sorry, I just don't like to run around and gloat that I'm in this huge, extremely talented, drop dead gorgeous band."

"And you're doing a good job at it!" I teased.

"Besides, not to sound conceited, I would have sworn that you knew who I was, that's why I never mentioned it."

"I see," I said thoughtfully, "Well, you learn something new everyday, that's for sure."

"How'd you find out?" He asked.

"My friend was an extra in your new video."

"Which one?"

"Ummm she's about 5'6", brown hair...."

"Which video, I meant" He laughed.

"Oh," I chuckled "" The one where you guys find it necessary to excessively repeat the word 'bye'.

"Oh, Bye Bye Bye."

"Yea, that one." I shrugged, as if it really mattered

"So you're in town for a performance or something?"

"Yea, but I once again gave into the touring and had to go into the hospital, it's too much for me to take sometimes."

"Then I think you picked the wrong business to be in buddy." I teased. We continued talking for quite sometime. I guess we felt more comfortable around each other now that at least one secret was out.

I looked at my watch after a while and noticed that we were talking for a little over two hours. I never had a conversation that lasted two hours without at least one moment of silence, never had one until now at least. I accidentally let out a yawn and Lance laughed a little.

"I guess we've been talking a while huh?"

"I'd say about two hours," I informed him.

"Wow, two hours, you keeping count?"

"Nah," I laughed" But I won't keep ya much longer, you need your rest."

"Yea, I should get going, the other guys have been passing my room and pointing at the clock for the last 10 minutes.."

"When are you leaving Toronto?"

"To tell you the truth I have no idea, me being in the hospital kind of screwed up our schedule. I'll try to call you tomorrow okay?"

"Sure, cya" I hung up the phone grinning. We had officially gotten through the awkward part of becoming friends.
