Chapters 1-5

**Chapter 1**

One day, my mom said to me "Alicia we are going to New York City." "Why are we going to New York City mum?" I questioned. "We are going there on business." My mom replied. "When do we leave?" I asked. "In 3 days, so start packing. Pack enough for at least 3 days. Pack something dressy," my mom answered. I went off and packed my suitcase with enough stuff. I couldn’t believe that all of a sudden, out of the blue we are going to New York City. I wondered if it had anything to do with all the letters that I had seen in our mailbox that mum had been receiving from Lexington, KY. As far as I knew, my parents knew no one in Lexington and the only people that I could even come up as being from Lexington at any point were 2 males that I have never met personally. The 2 males would be Kevin Scott Richardson & Brian Thomas Littrell of the Backstreet Boys, who those two happen to be cousins also. "What would 2 members of the Backstreet Boys or their families want with me?" I wondered. I mean, yeah, I do bare some resemblance to Brian in the face, the eyes, the color of my hair, even my height and weight.

**Chapter 2(Three Days later, In New York)**

We made it to New York with no problems, despite me getting some stares from passers-by considering what I had on and what was on my backpack. I was wearing a Lilith Fair T-shirt (Mom took me as a last fling before school started) with a pair of cargo shorts and a pair of gym shoes. I was carrying a backpack with patches that read: Class of 2001(my graduation year from High School), ‘N Sync(One of my favorite groups), Backstreet Boys(Another of my favorite groups), and Chris(My favorite member of ‘N Sync). We easily got to our hotel and checked in. After we checked in, we were given our room keys to the suite that we had reserved. We went up to the floor on which our room was. We got to the room and entered it. They had given us a very spacious suite. I put my stuff down in one of the rooms and then told my parents that I had a room key and I wanted to go and explore the hotel a bit. They said that it was fine, but I had to be back in a half an hour to an hour because my parents wanted to go out and grab something to eat. I told them that it was fine and I had a watch on, so I would know when I had to be back. I walked out after making sure I had the key in one of my pockets of the cargo shorts I was wearing. I started to walk around and found things that I wanted to see if they had and now I had an idea of where they were. I noticed that I need to head back, so I started to head back, but I had gotten lost along the way. All of a sudden, I bumped into someone. "Oh, I am sorry." I said. "It is ok." The person replied. I looked up and discovered that I had run into none other than Brian Littrell. "Do you think you can help me?" I asked him. "Maybe," he replied. "What do you need?" "Can you help me find my way back to my room?" I asked. "Sure," he replied. So I told him my room number and he helped me find my room. When we had reached my room, I thanked him and then went in.

**Chapter 3**

The next day, at 10 a.m., we went down and climbed into a limo. I was dressed in a pair of flared jeans with flowers on the legs and a white tank top that had thin, spaghetti straps and a flowery pattern on it and I had my black purse slung over my shoulder. I wondered where we were going. Before we pulled away from the hotel, I asked the driver if he would put on a local, yet popular radio station that played all the current pop and r&b stuff, meaning ‘N Sync, BSB, Christina Aguliera, and others. He knew what I meant because as soon as he had gotten in, he turned the radio on and put it on a station that was just announcing the song that they were going to play next, which happened to be "Larger Than Life" by the Backstreet Boys. The limo pulled away from the curb and off we went. We went right through downtown New York City, which was very cool. I watched as we passed the sights of New York City. I pointed out Times Square to my parents and said that it would be soo cool to be in the middle of Times Square while they do TRL. My mom said that she had planned to do that tomorrow with me. "Yes!!!!," I exclaimed with happiness.

**Chapter 4**

A little while later, I felt the limo pull to a stop. I looked out the window and noticed that we were stopped in front of a big building. "Is this our destination mom?" I asked with curiosity in my voice. "Yes Alicia, this is the place that we needed to be at." My mom replied. The driver opened the door and my dad climbed out first. My dad offered his hand to my mom and helped her out of the limo. After my mom got out, the driver offered his hand and helped me out. As soon as I got out, I slipped my shades back over my eyes. The driver closed the door and told us that he would be back to pick us up later in the day. We walked into the building and my mother went up to the reception desk. She talked to the receptionist for a minute, before she walked back to us. "She said that someone would be right down to get us." My mom said. A couple minutes later, someone walked up to us and told us to follow her and she would show us to where we needed to be. We followed her and after awhile, we entered a green room. She told us to hang here for the time being and she or someone else would come and get us as we where needed. By the time we had entered the room, I had ultimately figured out that we were at a talk show.

**Chapter 5**

An hour later, someone came for my parents. I sat there for five minutes before someone came back for me. I followed the person. When we got near an entrance to the stage, the person told me to stop and stand right where I was until she said that I was to go onstage. When I was finally told to go, I walked out with my hair bouncing. As I walked onstage, I noticed who the host of the show was. It turned out to be Maury Povich. I took a seat next to my folks and wondered exactly why I was here. "Welcome to the show Alicia." Maury said. "Hello Maury." I replied with a smile. "Do you know why you are here?" Maury asked. I shook my head no. "Would you like to know?" he asked again. I nodded yes. "Well, I will let your parents tell you," he said. "Alicia," my mom started, "you aren’t really our daughter." "What?" I screamed, in shock from this news. "Sweetheart, we adopted you when you were just a month old because your birth parents couldn’t handle the stress of supporting three children of their income. They had two older children and they were having trouble as it was supporting the two that they had when your birth mother had you. Recently, your birth parents have been writing me. They have decided that they want you back now." My mom said. I started sobbing. "Why now?" I questioned. "They want to have sometime to bond with you." My dad answered. "When will I get to meet them?" I asked. "Today because they are here." My mom answered. "Let’s bring them out." Maury said. "Welcome Jackie, Harold, Harold, and Brian to the show." I looked and saw my true mother, father, and brothers walk on the stage. I got up, ran to them and hugged them while sobbing. After a few minutes, we sat down and started chatting. "Mom," I said to Jackie with a questioning voice. "Yes, sweetheart." Jackie replied. "What’s my full real name?" I asked. "Your full real name is Brianna Marie Littrell." Jackie answered. "Sis, I can’t believe how much you have in common with me." Brian said. "I know, it is weird. Everyone at my school has always mentioned to me that I looked a lot like you and that you and I could even possibly be twins. I always just dismissed it as coincidence that we looked alike." I replied.
