Yané
Yané (played by Candice Orwell) is one of Queen
Amidala's handmaidens. Chosen for her intelligence,
fitness, courage and resemblance to the Queen, Yané
is, with Saché, one of Amidala's youngest handmaidens.
Like the other handmaidens in the Queen's service,
Yané has been trained in self defense, and she is a
capable bodyguard. She wears a hooded robe similar to
those of Rabé, Sabé, Eirtaé and Saché.
Left behind when Amidala went to Coruscant with Sabé,
Rabé, and Eirtaé, Yané did not fight in the battle of
Theed due to her young age. Amidala hoped she would be
safe that way.
However, along with all of the other handmaidens, she
did attend Qui-Gon Jinn's funeral, and the celebration
at the end of The Phantom Menace.
