Eirtaé
Eirtaé (played by Friday 'Liz' Wilson) is, with Rabé,
Queen Amidala's most trusted handmaiden, after Sabé.
Raised in a town in a remote river valley, Eirtaé is
the daughter of a wealthy family. Highly trained in
etiquette, she helps the other handmaidens, as well as
the Queen, in this discipline.
Her expanded knowledge of royal protocol is one of the
reasons Amidala chose her as a handmaiden upon her
election, half a year before the events of The Phantom
Menace took place. Eirtaé was also picked because of
her courage, intelligence and fitness.
Eirtaé is the only blonde handmaiden, which makes her
easy to recognize when she's not wearing an hooded
dress. All the other handmaidens have dark brown or
black hair. But, like Rabé, Sabé, Yané and Saché,
Eirtaé often dresses in a hooded gown that hides a
part of her face, and makes the handmaidens difficult
to distinguish from the each other to an untrained
eye.
This is a key point for the Queen's double identity:
since all handmaidens basically look the same, most
people don't notice when Amidala, disguised as Padmé,
replace Sabé as a handmaiden while Sabé acts as the
Queen.
Along with the Queen, Sabé and Rabé, Eirtaé left Naboo
when the Trade Federation attacked the planet. With
the help of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Jedi Padawan
Obi-Wan Kenobi, they reached Coruscant, where Amidala
pleaded Naboo's case before the Galactic Senate.
When they returned to Naboo, Eirtaé fought with Padmé,
Rabé, Sabé and the two Jedi to free the planet from
the Trade Federation occupation.
The first picture represents Eirtaé on the Queen's
spaceship, the Marie Celeste, on the way back to
Naboo, before the final battle against the Trade
Federation.
