ULTIMA ONLINE
There is a lot happening out on UO/The Forgotten Lands right now. They
are in the process of making a major change to the shard and ultimately
the Forgotten Lands will fall to the wayside and in its place will be
born The Forgotten Lands, The New Generation.
Unfortunately with this rebirth, comes another shard wipe. But as this
is a test shard, and we get all the good updates before anyone else, we
have come to expect and accept this. Once again we will loose our Guild
Castle, but you can see what the castle looked like in its final days at
LOV History
They will be moving towards a class system so there will be no more Tank
Mages. No more will you see a Wizard coming at you wearing Full Plate
Armor and carrying a Halbred while casting a Circle 8 spell. Now the
PKer will have to work for it and the average Joe will have a chance
against him.
The starting classes will be: Jack of All Trades, Warrior, Mages and
Wandering Druids. In-Game classes will include the Knight, Bard,
Druidic Order, Order of the Magi, Necomancers and Merchants. You will
be able to at any time choose to go back to the starting area to change
your class, but will in effect make you a newbie of your new chosen
profession. Please refer to the main page of The Forgotten Lands for
more specific information. Remember when creating your account, take
into consideration which class you are choosing, and do not pick 50 in
swordsmanship if you are trying to be a mage... it will be a waste of
points because when you come into the game and go thru the Mage Gate, it
will reduce that swordsmanship down to about 15, and will NOT give you
the points elsewhere... Also remember when creating your character, the
basic creation screen is OSI's, not TFL, and when you go thru the chosen
gate, you will change.
For information on getting a FREE account so you can join us on The
Forgotten Lands TNG, go to
The Forgotten Lands and click on the "Join" option. Answer the questions, follow the directions, and
send it in. You can use me as your Sponsor name if you wish. They will
ask if I am sponsoring, so please use a name I recognize.
The next few weeks we will all be restarting our characters, so you
needn't feel bad about being a newbie... we will ALL be newbies again.
There will be many new options available for us as far as our own
individual houses and the new Guild House are concerned, but I am sure
it will be a while before we even need to consider our options there.
I am in the process of preparing a small, easy scavenger hunt that will
be easy enough for a first-day player to participate in, and I am
planning on inviting all players of The Forgotten Lands TNG to
participate. The last scavenger hunt I did had about 20-30 players
playing and with the help of one of the GM's, Electra, all players were
also given a bonus of 2,500 gold just for participating. It was great
fun. The winner received a deed to a small house!
Before we start recruiting new members, I want our old members back
together again. Let me know if you're in or not!
NOTE: As of the date of this newsletter, the new TFLNG is running.
They may need to wipe in the next week or two to do some tweaking of the
classes as we go to this new system.
NEW NAME FOR LOV
The new meaning of LOV is Legends Of Valhalla, as you will see in the
pictures of the castle. In tallying the votes of the very few people
who voted, this name came out the winner.
EVERQUEST
I received this news from Genavera and Flameskydancer:
If you think UO rocks, come Play with us On EverQuest. You can play 12
different races (including Dark Elves, Halflings, Ogres, Trolls and 3
different Humans), all with unique abilities and 14 different classes
(including Shaman, Paladin, Monk, Enchanter). It's real cool, best of
all you can have 8 characters per sever and there are over 12 severs.
BestBuy has the best price $39.99 (hurry, once the game sells out there
will not be any more copys made). I hope to see you soon in Norrath.
Your Friends,
Genavera and Flameskydancer
p.s. E-mail us for char names and classes (magic166@gte.net)
I have the game, made my character and she immediately fell to her death
when she fell out of a tree. LOL That is as far as I have gone. My
son plays it and really seems to enjoy it. It looks very confusing, but
then again so did UO until someone took the time to teach me. From what
I understand, they have certain shards set aside where there is NO PKing
allowed, and certain shards clearly state that they are PVP.
Once again with this game, there is a monthly charge. I think it is
$9.99 per month. But it may be something some of you wish to look
into. If so, please contact Gen and FSD for help.
MISSING IN ACTION
Still looking for RAD/DAR/ODE - if anyone knows where he is or how to
contact him, please let me know.
