Kord's Character Stats
Kord Bloodrunner, once a ranger, became a thief running around Cormyr for the most part. Once a basically friendly man, he suffered rather a tragic series of events that made him hard, vicious, and severely distrusting of others. First, his parents were murdered along with his ranger mentor. Then, the woman he married was murdered and crucified in the burning remains of Kord's home by one of the few men he had ever called friend. The second man he called friend, a paladin named Tristam, went insane and threatened to kill him, so Kord broke his neck. He watched an endless stream of people join his party, then die in combat or worse, bars. When he finally found another woman to love, she stabbed him in through his stomach from behind with a Bastard Sword +3 in order to endear herself to the man who killed Kord's family, a man named Mannanon. He was then catapulted out of the castle. The only thing that saved him was divine intervention. He managed to kill Mannanon with help from companions, but Mannanon didn't stay dead. The evil warlord came back with vast power and a hunger for revenge - he and Kord both perished in their final battle. Gameplay - He's very clever, almost guaranteed to find a way out of a trap, and you will find that money doesn't interest him, even as a thief. If you want his help, first you must convince him that your cause is a very, very good one, then you must persuade him that you really need his help. His equipment is definitely top of the line. After all, he's been around a while. He has a family blade, perfectly unique, that functions as a Vorpal Longsword +4. It also can only be used by someone in his bloodline, as it magically weighs approximately eight hundred pounds to anyone else. He has a Ring of Spell Turning, a Ring of Protection +6 (with +1 to saving throws), a Gem of Seeing, Boots of Striding and Springing, and a Hat of Disguise. Coupled with his 101 hit points, he's hard to kill.
