We arrived pulling onto the very top level of the parking garage. We all stepped out, one car after another (we only had two lol) and we all looked up opening the trunks and getting our stuff to carry in. I looked around to the very top floors on the hotel and saw a guy waving in a tight grey shirt, dark brown (almost black) looking hair and a small gottee and a mustache. I waved back, smiling just to be polite, and my friend handed me binoculars. I took them and looked up focusing on the guy while slowly taking them down from my face when my mouth dropped open, "Oh... My... God... you guys?" (I started crying then) and they looked in awe. "WHAT WHAT WHAT?!?!" I slowly looked again and turned to them with a wide grin "That's Kevin!!!" (I screamed). Still waving he looked down on us going crazy by waving taking pictures and holding up signs saying "Kev Hold Me Tight" (thats what my sign said). While the rest of our Backstreet Gang got their signs and continued to wave, Kev blew me a kiss (or i think it was me, and if not i like to think so, so just play along y'all lol) from the level he stood upon looking down on those who would worship the grass he walked on.
*~*~*The Show*~*~*
Could the show get any better?
They opened with the Star Wars theme and came out joined by thousands of screaming fans, fireworks, and attached to thin strings flying above balistic BSB fanatics. The big black box opened and steam rolled out revealing one of the hottest boy bands in history, the Backstreet Boys. They broke into the arena with crys of Larger then Life and pleading ways of thanking the people who put them in positions like this.
Kevin turned the crowd to mush by crying and responding to the screams of "Kevin I Love You for You!" by yours truley (lol jkjk). Kevin gave the speech "I really wish I could say a lot more then I'm capable of right now but if I did I'd cry like a baby. But :pauses: I just want all of you to know :pauses: that if it wasn't for people like you :choking and his voice quivers: I, and the rest of the fellas wouldnt be here today. :Pauses again: And I want you all to know I can't put into words what you all mean to me. :shown on the big screen TV Kevin has tears running down his cheeks: Thank You All! :waves:
An emotional state for Kevin as he joins his home town for the first concert of the weekend. Being a beautiful, cool, friday night helped the mood too. Kevin crying and Brian talking about how he always want to play basketball for the Wildcats, could almost put half the crowd on their knees as the boys, teary eyed, looked onto another 22,055 people in the audience.
*~*~* It Started*~*~*
They met the gound while slowly slipping off the airboards of a blu-ish gold and formed a solid straight line with a row of dancers behind. Kev, sticking out the littlest off all BSB memebers led the straight lines to each of the eight corners of the stage by bopping his head up and down, and words of silence. Aj, Brian, Howie, and Nick looked on as the oldest of the Backstreet Boys led them to another smash-hit sold out concert in the Rupp Arena. The went from song to song of Larger then Life, Get Down, Don't Want You Back, The One, Show me the Meaning, As Long as you Love Me, It's Gotta Be You, I'll Never Break Your Heart, AIHTG, Spanish Eyes, Kevin's Piano Solo, Back to Your Heart, No one else Comes Close, Perfect Fan, Don't Wanna Loose You Now, Everybody, That's the Way I Like It, We've Got it Goin' On, IWITW... all of their songs were hits when the five stunning singers took the stage with blasting lights and hormonific sounds.
The fans made history with all of the emotions put through from the Backstreet Boys; crying, screaming, stunning, happy, floating on air, chanting, singing, loud crys towards the individual hotties themselves. Things such as "Kev Hold Me Tight", "Nick I love You!", "Aj let me be your floor Tonight", and "Kevin Get dizzy so you'll throw up on me". Some of the things I'm not going to mention cause they were quite inappropriate... lol which isn't all bad from some people's point of view, like "Wink me, Blink Me, Kev, 69 Me!"
The dancing and loud blasts of sound coming from the high-pitched Howie, Low-toned Kevin, Soothing Brian, Baby-voice Nick (thats a compliment) and Monitone Aj, rushed through fans like water through stones in a creek. Kevin, attached to see-through strings, hung up-side down after flips galore and Nick floating in air, making the best efforts to run like a banchi, Aj remained up-side down flashing the right side of the arena with the cute little butt he has as, Brian waved and sang soft lyrics to crying, heart-throbbing girls below. Howie joined the high-flying party by a wave a wink after accending from stage off two feet. The boys were held by strings and flew about 30 feet above the crowd while waving and singing soothing tones the crowd of hypnotized, Backstreet Fever-ish, music swooning zombies below.
The ho-like and the black-shirted do-dads, we like to call dancers, added a touch to the boys as they blew-away the not-so-thankful-to-be-here moms and dads. Confetti burst from cannons on the sides and the middle of the stage, that was able to attract and re-tract, spun in circles as they slowed down the music a little.
The boys came out again, from under the stage, dressed differently, Brian and Kevin dressed in Kentucky Wildcat jerseys and the rest dressed in their own sense of fashion, and they each announced the dancers and musicians of the band. By fooling the crowd, the Boys said their good nights and went under the stage. The crowd grew quiter as I yelled "Kevin come back!" and my friend joined in with a Nick chant. Of course, the boys came back and the crowd arrupted in splurges of shrieks and high-toned screams as each boy sang their own part of I Want It That Way, AJ's being the loudest from what I could tell.
That being the last of their songs, they bowed and took their last steps into the darkness under the stage and I raced down the stairs full of people trying to go up the stairs and shoved my way to the stage. I clinged to the cold metal bar, with my Kevin sign, by Backstreet Boys book full of fan mail, and my jar of peanut butter for Kevin. I slowly looked around and picked up peices of confetti along with my friends and the ladies who ate peanuts... I looked at the security guard who walked by, about my height and had a bald head and a mustache, and said over the fans screaming for the water bottles being thrown (the boys did drink out of them) "Please give this to Kevin" holding out the jar of peanut butter. He looked at me and replyed "No, I'm sorry I can't". I sobbed and sorta bounced on the balls of my feet looking at a security gaurd carrying pizza and coke, repeating myself, "Please give this to Kevin". Looking at me weirdly he took the jar of peanut butter and before he was fully under the stage you could here him say "Kevin you have a gift" (slowly fading off). He returned empty handed which was a sign... my boy had gotten his gift.
I left with a bright smile on my face but tears of not wanting it to end but still being able to talk to my friends about Kevin's incident about almost falling off the ramp in mid-stage. We ran through the halls of the upper 22nd hotel room, rooms and searched for the Backstreet Boys. Being unsuccessful, we decided to go to the Hyatt Hotel, that was joined to the Radisson (our hotel) by a sky-walk. We walked through the corridor looking below to all the people eating and seeing people bunched against the stairway looking down. We looked at eachother silently, smiled, and sprinted across the stairs and look down to see Aj McLean standing in the bar. We joined the fans with markers and camera's, and parents, scrambling to find the slightest opening to see the marvle at work. He drank and smoked, but being disappointed at that moment only hit me hard... yet seeing, Aj has just as much right to drink and smoke enough as the next guy. We had to leave around 2:30 am because the security got fed up with us leaning over the railing.
So the heart-breaking moment came when we all piled into the garage elevator taking us the first-to-last floor. We walked up the stairs mumbling to ourselves and I turned to Sara, Nicole, and Emilia following me, "I wish that Kevin guy would be there again" and I turned into the bright-greyish sky-light looking up into the hotel room for Kevin once again... there he was. Folded and before I even got to the car, he had started to wave again. He knew us just by looking. I waved frantically back and held up my Kevin sign as he called Brian and Howie to the window. Brian came back with the camcorder and he handed Kevin the camera. He took pictures and we piled into the car for the 3 hour drive home. I waved to Kevin as we pulled out of the parking garage. The happiest day of my life had just ended with the best thing to ever happen to me. I want to thank my mom, and my friends, for being there for me during this whole thing, even if some of the stuff sounds absolutely impossible to ever happen to some crazy-4-BsB hicks from the city... and to Sara, I only have one thing to say "HILO" BABY!!!!!
