Me

I am Not From Here

I am not from here.
my hair smells of the wind
and is full of constellations
and I move about this world
with a healthy disbelief
and approach my days and my work
with vaporous consequence
a touch that is translucent
but can violate stone.

I'm Celestia Starr, although my real name is Vanessa Smith. The Celestia name came about after a grade 7 project I did for our Greek mythology unit. I had to create a god or goddess, myth and all. So I created Celestia, goddess of all celestial beings. Her myth is in the middle of a rewrite, but will soon be available to read.

When you see me, you'll most likely notice my long brown hair, eyeglasses, small mouth, green eyes, long fingernails, long arms & legs, petite bong structure, and the omnipresent pen in my hands. If you look closer, you may notice the mouth always has a small smile on it's lips, and the eyes have a faraway, almost sad, look to them.

This is, of course, just the outside.

Inside, I have a creative spirit just bursting with ideas. Fantasy & Sci-Fi Stories,Poetry, and J/C Fanfiction are spilled in blue ink onto pieces of lined paper which, (more often than not), get lost on the breeze of the whirlwind which is a busy teenager's life.

My favourite beverage is Coca-Cola, but orange juice is great for those wrong-side-of-the-bed kind of mornings. (Which is, to say, every one). I'm a self proclaimed JODSER, Chakoholic, chocoholic, and JetCer, no matter what anyone says about noe of them being addictive. I watch all incarnations of Star Trek; The Outer Limits; Sliders; Felicity; and the occasional episodes of Dharma & Greg and Who's Line is it Anyway?. I read almost all of the Trek books, as well as books by Anne McCaffrey, Anne rice, Orson Scott Card, Neil Gaiman, as well as various other sci-fi and fantasy books. Although, on occasion, my reading loyalties lie elsewhere....

Music is a vital part of my life. My stereo speaks to me through the lyrics of Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Imani Coppola, the Goo-Goo Dolls, Cheryl Crow, Paula Cole, and anyone else who has a few words to share.

If I was a garden utensil, I'd have to be a rake, for I've always loved the feel of the sand between my toes,

tiny granules
being grinded
then sprinkled
back to their friends.

And if I were, in the fruit salad of life, any kind of fruit or vegetable, I'd have to be a pomegrante,
strange,
not what it seems,
many little seeds
are parts of one whole.

The element I feel closest to is air, with my hair
flying,
against the breeze,
while I spread my wings,
to soar.

Well, I guess that's about all you need to know about me....the rest is found inbetween the lines of my
stories
poems
and
being.

Good Journeys,
Celestia.
