My indian totem: The Crow

The energy of Crow is the energy of change. The Crow is the guardian of the mysteries of creation, the keeper of the sacred laws, and master of them. the Crow is close to the supernatural and can therefore master "psychic" forces to shift shape, far-see, and even bilocate. Crow people are masters of illusion, and are not easily deceived. They see through appearances to the reality behind, both inner and outer reality.
Crows belong to a family of ravens, rook, magpies and jackdaws. They are all known for being cunning and strong, sociable and noisy, intelligent and adaptable, at home both on the ground and in the air. They can be tumblers and clowns, thieves and mimics.
They are not happy alone. They like to be in a crowd, working in a group. They are loyal to their organisation, quick to defend it, verbally or physically.
Crows and ravens have always been associated with magic in the deepest sense of knowing how to alter the enviroment creatively. They were keepers of secrets and observant eyes. Crow people are therefore discreet and trustworthy.
Crows are aerial acrobats, balancing air currents on the turn of a wing, sensitive to every fluctuation and change of influence. This can make them slow to deceide, unable to make up their minds.
Crows are creative, clairvoyant, sociable, friendly, always eager to change and explore new possibillities, to move on to whatever is around the next corner. If they are unable to adapt and to go with the changes, they can become morose, brooding and quarrlesome, irritable and harsh. They like neatness and order around them, even if they are actually generating chaos.
Crows are romantic and fun to be with. In their search for the ideal partner they can seem frivolous and flirtatious. They are always charming and thoughtful, can be seductive and affectionate, but underneath appearances, they are practical and good home-makers.
Because Crow's natural element is air, but the element of the west is earth, amd is associated with things of the physical body, Crow must balance air and earth energies. Excess of earthly pleasures is the biggest threat to a Crow's health, over-indulgence the main weakness. This can lead to trouble with the kidneys, ans associated joint problems, fluid retention and consequent weight problems. Crows must be on guard against their basic sociability which encourages them to overdo it in a social setting. Abstinence is the quickest way for a Crow to regain to necessary balance, or flushing out the toxins in the sweat lodge.
