The village of Madmen

Dawn comes to the city of Krezk. The heroes awake with a surprise; Morkatal's bed is empty. It appears he hasn't slept in there long; a farwell note lies on the table. He left his silver broad sword behind. The heroes are not puzzled about his departure for long; They mark him as a coward and a weakling, who rather stayed behind in battle than actually participate. They will move on without him.
The streets are calm and empty this morning. The smell of charcoal hangs in the air, and fills the heroes with satisfaction, for it confirms their triumph over evil once again. Still, it is necessary to abandon the city, for the have run afoul the law. The party easily makes it's way out of town, and takes a lonely sandtrail headed west. After an hour or so, they notice a small camp. It is occupied by four men, dark of skin. They look wary of the party, one of them, clearly the youngest of the party, even raises his sword. The leader however, commands his fellow to lower his weapon. He turns to the party and greets them. Succubus, already eager to engage in battle, releases her grip on the sword handle. Maybe it's better to talk first.
The men introduce themselves. The leader's name is Andrej. He is a Ranger. Vladmir is an Arcanist. Bela is a cleric. And finally, Pjotr (indeed the youngest one of them all) is a fighter. All are half-vistana adventurers. They claim to be on a quest for 'the book of vile darkness.' It is their goal to find it, kill whomever may guard it and destroy it. At these words, Nimrod's and Succubus' eyes begin to shine. They agree to help, but they are not intent on destroying the book. Indeed, they have become curious as to what it might contain. They pack up camp and make their way further west. The travel is mostly silent, if it wasn't for Pjotr's heroic tales, as he tries to impress the heroes with all the 'his' party has accomplished on their travels. But his chatter soon ends as Vladmir points at a churchtower in the distance.
