No Fat French Fries -Jan: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients: Directions:
3 lg baking potatoes
cooking spray
Scrub fresh potatoes, do not peel, and cut into strips
Place on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
Spray a little on the potato strips and sprinkle with the seasonings of your choice.
Bake at 425 until done to your liking.
I like them when the outside gets a little browned and puffy and the taters are all fluffy inside, which takes about 25 minutes,
but that also depends on how big you slice the potatoes.

These are so good (to me, anyway)
that I can't stand eating the deep-fried stuff anymore.
Serve with ketchup and/or no-fat sour cream or plain yogurt.

"Impostor" Chili -Douglas: From the Idea Exchange
Ingredients: Directions:
2, McCormick's seasoning packets -- one "hot" and one "regular."
2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 cans DelMonte Italian-style stewed tomotoes
2 cans dark red kidney beans, drained (and rinsed if desired)
Stir the contents of the packets into about 1/2 cup of water, set aside.
Brown the beef in a lg skillet
(ground turkey, or half beef/half turkey would work, too).
Drain the fat from the meat and stir in
the stewed tomatoes and the seasoning "concoction".
Let that heat 'til bubbly,
then gently stir in the kidney beans,
and let simmer for at least 20 minutes.
I let it simmer for a good long time. :-)
This recipe can be cooled and placed into individual freezer containers (ziploc freezer bags, ie) for later use.
To reheat them, just open a corner of the pouch, place in a bowl, and microwave for about 7 or 8 minutes.

Soooo easy, and it's really very good for a not-from-scratch recipe.

Ingredients:Directions:
2- bags frozen Broccoli (thawed)
1- can Cream of Mushroom soup
1- jar of cheezewhiz
1- soup can full of minute rice
1/4 cup butter
Mix all together and bake at 350 for about an hour.

Deep Fried Corn on the Cob -Sondra: From the IE
Ingredients:Directions:
milk
corn on the cob (silk removed)
flour
seasonings as desired
hot oil
dip corn in milk
roll it in seasoned flour
deep fry it in hot oil.. about 10 min.
