Pig Lickin' Cake (aka Better Than Sex Cake)- Paulette: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
For the cake:
1 box Yellow/Butter cake mix w/ pudding in the mix
4 eggs
1/2 C oil
1 can mandarin oranges (with juice)
For the icing:
1, 8oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 lg. box instant vanilla pudding
1 can crushed pineapple, drained
14 oz. container Cool Whip
Stir all cake mix ingredients together and bake per box instructions.
Remember-baking times differ according to the type of pan used.
Use a mixer to blend cream cheese, cool whip, and vanilla pudding.
Fold in drained pineapples.
For Halloween events, add a bit of red & yellow (to make orange) food coloring to icing.
Frost cake and use some black gel (decorator's frosting) to draw a big spider's web on top of the cake.

Easy Strawberry Trifle -Debra Alvarado of Texas... a find of Kateo's
Ingredients: Directions:
2 pts fresh strawberries, sliced (reserve 4 nice ones for top of trifle)
l sm carton whipping cream
2 T Confectioners sugar
1/4 t cream of tartar)
1 large package cook and serve Vanilla Pudding
3 cups milk
1 Sara Lee pound cake, defrosted & cut into 1 " cubes
Whip cream with Confectioners sugar & cream of tartar)
Prepare pudding according to package directions
In trifle bowl, layer 1/2 the pound cake cubes, then 1/2 the pudding, then 1/2 the strawberries, then a layer of whipped cream, repeat the layering.
Pipe remaining whipped cream on top and decorate with reserved strawberries cut in half.

Fresh Apple Cake -Kateo: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
3 med apples
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 C sugar
1/2 tsp allspice
1 1/2 C flour
1/2 C melted margerine
1 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C raisins
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 C chopped nuts
Peel and core apples.
Chop coarsely and add sugar. Let stand 10 min.
Blend melted margarine and unbeaten egg into apple mixture.
Sift flour and combine with spices and soda, add
to apple mixture, stirring just until blended.
Fold in raisins and nuts.
Bake at 350 for 50-60 min. in an 8" square, greased, paper-lined pan.
Cool 10 minutes in pan before removing.

Note: for this recipe you do not need to peel the apples...just remove the core.

HARVEST APPLE TORTE- Pam: A Front Porch Chef
Ingredients:Directions:
4 cups of diced apples, peel on
1 C flour
1 C white sugar (or 1/2 white - 1/2 brown)
1 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1-2 beaten eggs (depending on size of egg)
1 T melted butter
dash of cinnamon
OPTIONAL:
1/2 C dates or raisins
1/2 C walnuts
Put apples in a bowl and sift the dry ingredients over them.
Mix until coated.
Add butter and cinnamon
Add optional ingredients, if desired.
Mix until all blended thoroughly.
Put into greased casserole, glass bowl or pan.
Bake about 20 minutes, at 350 degrees F
Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or just cream.
