Cracker Candy -Julia/Seattle: From the Idea exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
saltine crackers
1 C butter, melted
1 C brown sugar
1 pkg choc. chips
GREASE a 9 ½ X 11 pan.
Place a layer of saltine crackers in pan.
Melt 1 cup butter or margerine (not light) and 1 cup brown sugar in saucepan.
Bring to a boil, let boil one minute.
Pour mixture over saltines.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Place in 400 degree oven for 5 minutes, or until chips are melted.
Using spatula, smooth chips to cover crackers.
(Top with nuts if you like...)
Let cool and break into pieces.
Makes an easy and inexpensive gift!

TRAIL MIX -Billie/GA (pecan farmer's wife): from the Idea Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
1 cup each of:
lightly toasted pecans
chocolate chips
raisins
salted peanuts
Combine all ingredients
Place in jars and seal tightly.
You have an instant snack with something salty,
something chewy, something sweet, something crunchy.....I love it.
(also an attractive gift in those tall jars
with cork tops)

Spiced Pecans -Karen/AZ: from the Idea Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. cayenne
Dash bottled pepper sauce
1 lb. pecan halves
In heavy skillet, melt butter.
Stir in seasonings.
Add pecans; toss until nuts are well coated.
Place in oven at 300 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring often until nuts are brown and crisp.
Yields: 4 cups

Sweet Pecans -Karen/AZ: from the Idea Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
8 oz. lg. pecan halves
1 egg white
1 tsp. cold water
1/2 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
In a bowl, beat egg white and water until frothy.
Add pecans a few at a time and coat well.
Mix sugar, salt and cinnamon in bowl.
Add nuts and mix well.
Bake on a buttered jelly roll pan or baking sheet at 225 degrees F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
