Information is being provided here on the known and unknown deaths and burials of Wilson Harmon and Elizabeth (Endicott) Harmon in hopes that further information can be obtained on what is unknown.

It is believed that after 1880, Wilson and Elizabeth moved from Boone County, AR to Sebastian County, AR or perhaps across the state line into Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory or what is now Leflore County, Oklahoma. It is known that their oldest son, Joseph Harmon and Family had migrated from Posey County, IN and settled in the Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (Shady Point, Oklahoma) in 1893.

From what we can tell, Elizabeth Endicott Harmon died ca. 1890. Through oral family history, it has been passed down that she is buried at the Old Hall Cemetery near the Kully Cha Ha Community which is near present day Cameron, OK. The only other evidence we have of this is an old letter from Viola Hamby, then living at Arkoma, OK and having claimed that she knew where Elizabeth (Endicott) Harmon’s burial site was located. Viola Hamby is now deceased and efforts to locate her descendants have been unsuccessful. Also, the Poteau Valley Genealogical Society has documented and published records of cemeteries in Leflore County including the Old Hall Cemetery. There is no listing for Elizabeth (Endicott) Harmon. Also, on site research has been conducted at the Old Hall Cemetery and those efforts were unsuccessful. In the rear of the Hall Cemetery, there are a number of old grave markers, many illegible, broken and difficult to read. There are also many unmarked graves.

After the death of Elizabeth (Endicott) Harmon, Wilson Harmon went to live with his daughter Amy Harmon Willis and Family in the Alderson, Krebs, Quinton, McAlester, Indian Territory area (Tobucksy County). That area is now Pittsburgh County, Oklahoma.

It is believed that Wilson Harmon died ca. 1894. A letter from Charley Harmon, the son of Joseph Harmon and grandson of Wilson Harmon stated that Andrew Harmon, a son of Wilson’s rode a mule from Bokoshe to his dad’s funeral in McAlester in 1894.

The earliest evidence we have of Amy Harmon Willis and Family in this area is 1900 living in Dwight, IT. We have found no evidence to date (March, 3001) of Wilson Harmon's burial site in or around the known areas where Amy and her family had lived.

Several cemeteries have been researched to date in the Pittsburgh County, OK area. These include:

To date, neither the exact deaths or burial locations have been confirmed for either Wilson Harmon or Elizabeth (Endicott) Harmon. Any information that may lead to the exact burial sites of both Wilson Harmon and Elizabeth (Endicott) Harmon would be greatly appreciated.
