Disclaimer; I don’t own Digimon: Digital Monsters (rats!) which means that I don’t own the Digiworld, Digidestind, Dark Masters, Cherrymon, or Wizardmon. However, the other aspects of this story (including the currently un-named girl) are mine.

Author’s Note; Welcome to Book # 2 in the all to contraversial series; The Child of the Digiworld. If you are wondering why I’m doing this, well . . . I’m not sure. Actually I just wanted to wright a new kind of fan fic, so I did. ^-^ This story just jumps in in the middle of an episode, which I probably warped the diologue to. But actually, this is my fan fic so I guess that wouldn’t matter. 9_9

Warning; CONFUSING-NES!!! Anyway, this series contains my own personal oppinion on the Puppetmon ishue. I may be the only one who thinks this way and if you dissagree with me then that’s totaly fine and I respect your oppinion. No disrespect is intedned in this, or the other storys of the Chlid of the Digiwrold saga.

Child of the Digiworld 1 (Part A); Revelations

By; Gomamon aka Pix

"These kids have something special. Something you don’t have."

Puppetmon turned to face the speaker. Cherrymon had always been loyal to him, but he had a bad feeling about the whole situation with the digidestind and he couldn’t afford to have any possible traitors around.

"Are you saying I might loose?"

"All I’m saying is, that you’ve got to be carefull."

"I don’t need you, I don’t need anyone!" And with one blast, Cherrymon was gone.

No one knew about the little girl hiding in the bushes, horified at the thought of her beloved father gone for good. Quietly, she began to cry. ‘Why?’ she thought, ‘Why’d Puppetmon do that? Why’d papa have to die?’ A gentle hand on her shoulder made her jump. Turning, she saw . . . Cherrymon?

"Papa?!? But . . . but I thought you were dead."

"Come now, you know I wouldn’t just leave you alone like that. I love you." He gently picked up the wide eyed girl, resting her on his shoulder.

"H-how . . . "

" . . did I not die? Well, to tell you the truth, someone killed me a long time ago."

"But . . . but that’s not possible."

"Yes it is, my dear. DeviDramon killed me five years ago. You were only one year old then, and I couldn’t just leave you, so I did the only thing I knew of to do; I used a spirit link."

"Spirit link?"

"Yes. It allows you to stay alive, instead of being re-configured."

"How do you do it?"

"It’s very difficult to explain, I’ll tell you when you’re older. But, the thing about the spirit link is, that you’ve got to link to a mega digimon. At that time, Puppetmon was the only mega digimon I knew."

"So, you’re spirit linked to Puppetmon?"

"That’s exactly it, little one. But, when Puppetmon dies, so will I."

"But, can’t you just spirit link to another mega digimon?"

"Aah, if only, but I’m afraid it’s just not that simple."

The battle wasn’t going well. The digidestind and their digimon were proving to be too much for Puppetmon’s attacks, so he did the only thing he could; he ran. Cherrymon and his young daughter were hiding under the cover of the forest, quietly watching the battle. All of the sudden, another digidestind showed up and, the girl noticed, he had a mega level digimon with him. The realization struck her like lightning. "Papa Cherrymon, Puppetmon needs help!"

"I know."

"Then why don’t we go help him?"

"Because we can’t."

"But . . . but why?"

"You’re too young to understand right now."

"Papa please . . . if he dies you’ll die too!"

"It’s for the greater good. Don’t you remember what I told you? Sometimes we must make sacrefices . . ."

"For the greater good, ya, I remember. But why Papa Cherrymon? Why does this have to happen?"

"It just does. It’s the way things have always been in the digital world. Sacrifice is a way of life. And besides, you’re old enough now to make it on your own."

"Papa, if what you say about the greater good is true, then why’d you turn that digidestind agenst his friends? Are they bad?"

"No, my little one, they aren’t truly bad."

"Then why?"

"Because, Puppetmon is my master and I am loyal to him. I did what he told me to, even if he didn’t know any better."

Their conversation was cut off abruptly as the new, half android mega attacked, delivering a devistating blow to the smaller puppet digimon. He flew back, landing with a thud on the ground. The marrionett controle flew through the air befour sticking in the ground beside him, giving the illusion of a crude, gray cross.
