New Beginnings Part 6; The Traitor
By: Gomamon
Izzy, Kantremon, and Mochimon speed down the hall, lead by the newly reformed Tersormon who was flying above them. Evil Digimon and living shadows leapt out at them at every turn, but they keeps going, knowing that they were probably all illusions anyway. And besides, they only had a small amount of time left before they were detected.
‘I wonder who this Tersormon really is,’ Izzy thought to himself, ‘and why she was working for Dakremon in the first place. Was it really a spell that made her evil, or is she lying to us? Can we really trust her?’
Tersor swooped down beside him. "The Motimon captives should be very near here, but I’m sure they won’t trust me. You’ll have to let them out."
"Me?"
"Yes, you’re the only other one that will be able to turn the key." She placed the oddly shaped, flat key into his gloved hand.
Izzy looked at the key for a minuet. ‘Tentomon,’ he thought, ‘if you can somehow hear me, wherever you are, I’ll do this for you.’ "Alright, where are they?"
"Straight ahead, we’ll wait here and make sure nobody sneaks up on you."
He nodded silently and crept forward through the long hall until he saw it; a small cage jammed with the all to familiar small, pink digimon. The memories flooded back into his mind. Memories of when he’d first met the only digimon he’d ever think of as his own.
"Don’t worry," he whispered to them, "I’m here to help you. Everything will be alright." He slowly reached forward to touch one of them and . . .
His hand went right through. ‘It . . . it’s a trick!’ he screamed in his mind. "Kantremon, Mochimon, we have to get out of here! It was all a trick!!" He almost didn’t realize that, this time, he had said the words allowed. He ran as fast and hard as his legs would let him and then some, but by the time he got back to the main hall it was too late. Kantremon was buried under a pile of all to real boulders and Tersormon was holding little Mochimon up by the neck.
"So, I see you’ve figured it out. You surprise me, digidestind, but your still too late!"
A dark form moved behind her. "You have done well, Tersormon. For this, you will be rewarded."
Izzy almost thought he saw something like remorse flicker across her eyes, but dismissed it. ‘Wishful thinking,’ he told himself, ‘just wishful thinking. How are we ever going to get out of this now?’
"Thank you master Dakremon."
"Now, give the digiestind to me."
Mochimon suddenly seemed to come to life. He struggled violently agenst the bigger digimon. "No! Don’t even think about hurting him or I swear I’ll get you for it!!" Tersormon angrily flung him away. He landed limply beside Kantremon and didn’t get up. Tersor reached forward to grab Izzy, but he backed away.
"Why Tersormon? Why are you doing this?"
"Because, I’m evil."
"No you’re not!"
"And how would you know that?"
"Because . . . I just know."
Her face softened for a moment, then became stone. She grabbed him by the shoulders and easily lifted the small boy off the ground. ‘This is it,’ Izzy said to himself, ‘it’s over. I’ve never though about how I was going to die. Well, at least not until I got to digiworld. So this is it. This is how it’s all going to end.’
"Red Spark!" Izzy cringed from Tersormon’s voice, trying desperately to compose himself while he waited for the end . . .
And it never came.
"How dare you, you little witch!!"
Cautiously, Izzy opened his eyes to something he never thought he’d see. Dakremon was on his knees trying to recover from the force of Tersormon’s Red Spark. Carefully, and almost gently, Tersor placed him back on the ground.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes. What made you stop?"
She gave him a calculating, nearly unreadable look. "I . . . don’t know. A loud growl from Dakremon halted their conversation.
"You will never make it out of here alive, NONE OF YOU!!"
"Oh, I think you might want to re-think that statement." Kantremon, still shaking the rubble out of her damaged wings, advanced towards the Nightmare King with a look of hard determination in her eyes.
"Do you think you can stop me, you pathetic little horse?" Kantre kept walking forward.
"You don’t have a chance! Black Hail!" The baseball sized projectiles rained down around her, but still, Kantremon just kept walking.
"Alright, so you may have been able to survive that, but you can’t defeat me! Nightmare Syndrome!" The powerful dark energy blast hit her head on, but she still kept walking, not even phased.
"I will not let your reign of terror continue any further!" The cave was suddenly illuminated with a bright, blinding light. "Kantremon digivolve to . . . EternityKantremon!"

So, do you want to know what happens next? What EternityKantremon looks like? If she’ll be able to defeat Dakremon? If Tersormon is truly evil or not? If Izzy will ever see Tentomon and the other digidestind again? Well, you can probably guess what I’m going to say now, but I’ll say it anyway; You’ve got to wait until part 7 to find out! ^-^
