The History of Digimon Central

The Begining - Digimon Central was first created on a whim after I saw the show Digimon: Digital Monsters for the first time and got hooked. So I got into my page account (then I ran an online cyberpet adoption agency called Whisper Valley) and set to work. Yes, this page was created on the very day the show premiered; Aug. 14, 1999.
It started out very small with little more than an episode and character guide and some text. No one came, and it seemed that no one ever would. Still, for some reason, I didn't want to give up on this sight. I kept adding new things untill it was even bigger than Whisper Valley and had to be moved to its own server, the in2/DigimonCentral that you all know.

The Holidays - The Holidays were always a big deal here, even from the start. Our first big holiday celebration was Halloween. It was the start of the Costume Party, something that I had hoped to add to each Halloween (except that the picture of Taichi as Goku I had ready somehow dissapeared, humm). From there it was one to Christmas. The entire sight was decroared w/ a snowy background and altered banners. During that time we also saw this sights intro into the Digimon Top 100 list (On Dec. 20, 2000 we were around 25th place, if you want to vote for this sight go to the end of the main page and click on the Zudomon banner, thankyou ^-^) and, more importantly, the introduction of frames.
The 2000 Holidays also brought about many changes. Again, the first one that we really got into, or shall I say that Lady Kuronue got into, was Halloween. Lady K. had her mind set on taking over Digimon Central for a while, and she did. And when I got back and found the changes, I just decided to leave them there. Afterall, they were a bit of an improvement. Then came Christmas 2000. Again we decorated with wintery backgrounds and pictures, but there was something new; snow! Falling snowflakes were officially added to the winter decore. Plus, the first Digimon Central christmas card was made. This card marked my first real appearence on the sight.

Faithfull Friends - From the very begining this sight has had help. The first to help us was Ilasu's Digia Garden. Ilasu helped me find new and different ways to make this sight stand out, plus she was (and is) a good friend, and I will always be greatfull to her. There were many more friends to fallow including the wonderfull fan fic wrighter Cybra, an amazing source of reliable information who I have always looked up to, DigitalTai, one of the most amazing Digimon web mistresses, Megchan, and many many more.

The Logo - Confusing, isn't it? Red courage and green knowledge with silver friendship, have you ever wondered why the official Digimon Central sight logo is so screwed up? This is your chance to find out. Actually, the banner itself is a sort of a testimate to friendship; that between myself and my best friend Silver Dragoness (that's not her real name of cource, but I don't think she'd appreciate me useing her real name on the internet w/ out her permission). The courage symbol is for her, because her character is Taichi and she exibits real, true courage in everything she does. It's red because red is the alternate color of courage (green is that of knowledge, pink for sincerity, purple for friendship, and so forth) and the orange courage just didn't seem to fit her as well. Red is symbolic afterall. The green symbol of knowledge is, of cource, mine. I've always been Koshirou in our group, I guess I have his personality. The surrounding colors are our spirit colors; purple for S.D. and blue for me. Now, the silver symbol of friendship is for the both of us. You see, silver is a color that we both share (she as Silver Dragoness and me as Silver Mercury) so it only seemed appropriate.
I orrigionally created the design as a gift for Silver Dragoness, but I got to love it and decided to use it for my sight banner. The next year it got a "new coat of paint" and was renovised into the present day Digimon Central sight logo.

Banners through the years - Did you see the orrigional Digimon Central sight logo? How about the old holliday hit count banners? Or the first Digimon Central Christmas card? Well this is your chance, welcome to the Digimon Central time gallery.
