Interview with the Stars

by Cybra

Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon. I don't own any of the characters

(I may have spelled a few Digi-names wrong). However, I DO own

the director, producer, and one of the writers (I don't know any real names for them).

Author's note: Ever wonder what would happen if you interviewed

the Digidestined if they were just actors on a TV series? I did.

Here's their (possible) responses to the questions, what do you

feel about your character, what did you go through during your audition,

and how do you get along with the others off camera (opinions are

biased as if you couldn't tell)? Each one of the different sections

for each interviewee's responses by their name in capital letters

(TK's name will be by itself). Spellings of different Digimon names

may be wrong, but don't bite my head off. Obie kaybie?

TAI

Oh, gee...um...actually, I really like being a goof ball on camera!

Unfortunately, this means I also make a lot of mistakes. I'll

screw up so bad the others will be rolling on the floor. Like that

one time I called Augumon "Ahgumon". They were all rolling on the

floor laughing while I'm over here being really stupid trying to

fix my mistake. Ron, our director, wasn't very happy about this.

I had just blown the 15th take on that one scene so he was DOUBLY mad.

Off camera, Matt and I really DO get along. In fact, we usually

go out for pizza once a week on Saturday to celebrate surviving

one more week of insanity! The others come along also, but Matt

and I swap bad jokes at one another so much that the others are

laughing too hard to eat. That's why we usually take home a doggie bag.

I get along pretty good with the Digimon. Augumon and I aren't

as close as we are on camera, but we're still buds. Tentomon, Gomamon,

Palmon, Patamon, and Gabumon are all friends, but not Biyomon.

Biyomon is a real pain off camera! Talk about your stuck up jerks!

What do I think of the Tai I play in the show? Well, I really think

that he's similar to me. We both screw up a LOT and are pretty

friendly. One thing I don't like about that Tai is that he's always

doing things that are pretty stupid, even by my standards, but he

redeems himself by recognizing what he did wrong and trying to fix

it. He also has a bad habit of being bossy at times. I don't think

I'm all that bossy, but sometimes Matt and I get into mock fights about it.

There were probably about 15 people wanting to have this part.

They didn't have any names for the characters so whoever had the

part got the honor of naming their character. Well, I did a scene

with this stick girl who was supposed to see if I could handle the

part. When I read through the mini-script, the 10th person who

auditioned went and he tried to go serious. When I was given my

try at it, I made myself sound like a sort of goof-ball and ad-libbed

most of it while sticking to my "script" as much as possible. Three days later, I had a job!!!

MATT

I'm da man! Both on camera and off! Me an' Tai bug each other

off camera, but we're still good friends. Izzy's probably my second

best bud, but ever since he picked up his part...oh, boy! I like

the Matt I play on camera since he's calm and cool, but he does

have his faults. I really enjoy playing him since he's always watching

out for TK and fighting with Tai. It was a lot of fun when Tai

and I had to fight during "Subzero Ice Punch!"! The two of us got

to fight in this fake snow that if you swallowed, it made you sick,

but it wasn't really cold. We had to do that scene 3 times and

we played it different every time so Ron, our boss, had something

to choose from. To be brutally honest, the one they showed on the

actual episode was my least favorite take.

Gabumon and I like to hang out quite a bit. But we're not as close

as Gomamon and Joe! You never EVER see those two apart! Still,

Gabumon and I have problems doing scenes together because whenever

he or I screws up, we screw up royally! We're both dying from laughter on the set.

For those of you wondering, no, TK is not REALLY my brother! He

came out of Central Casting. When they were picking out "my little

brother", they came up with TK. Still, when they brought him on

board, they realized that we looked TOO MUCH like one another.

So they gave him the hat in order to halt the "Mini-Me" jokes.

However, that doesn't mean WE don't use them! TK doesn't like me

that much in actuality. He likes Mimi more.

When I auditioned, there was about 3 people there. It turns out

that there had been about 26 in front of me, but I didn't know that

at the time. I kept thinking "Oh, man, this part must really stink!",

but I still crossed my fingers. I took the little mini-script for

my part I played it out like I do now. Ron walked in while I was

auditioning, grinned, shook my hand, and said, "You're hired."! I couldn't believe my ears!!!

SORA

I get along well with all of the Digimon okay, but not Biyomon!!!

Jeez! She constantly gets all over you for the tiniest little

mistake! When we were filming with Gatomon, Gatomon and I did this

little sing and dance thing when I accidentally said something that

sounded like the title of a musical. Everybody was crackin' up

except Biyo! By the way, she REALLY hates it when you call her

that, so I try to call her that as much as possible.

Off camera, I hang out with the crew from "7th Heaven". Scary,

I know. Tai and I go out also, we've been going out ever since

we met about a year ago. He was trying out for his part and I was

trying out for mine. It was really weird, too! It was just we

meet, exchange names, and Tai just asks "Will you go out with me?"!

Still, the others are really great, too. Palmon, Mimi, and I constantly

go to the different water parks around here and the shopping malls.

To be total honest, I'm more of the mall crawler than Mimi. Matt and Izzy are pretty cool, too.

The Sora I play on "Digimon" is a juicy part. She's the tomboy

of the group (similar to, but not really like me) and also the mother

hen. The two conflicting personalities make her an excellent character

to play. Still, to be totally honest, I still detest a lot of what

she does! She's an okay character, but she's not overly wonderful.

However, I remain positive that in future episodes she'll become even better.

When I tried out, I was REALLY nervous! I wasn't sure if I'd get

my part right or not. I major league screwed up when I was auditioning.

Palmon was there and she was reading her part (obviously, all the

Digimon were hired first). She really encouraged me to keep going

when I thought I was doing really awful. At first, this other girl

got the part, but the name "Sora" had been given to the character

since they really liked my name. Then, the other girl refused to

sign the contract because she didn't like the terms, so guess who got the part? ME!!!

TK

I really wish I could say that I was a first-pick character. But

I was last-picked except for Izzy who scrambled to gain his part.

Well, they had to pick Matt first before they could pick me. No

fair! They tell me that it was because they had to pick an older

brother before a younger brother!

To be totally honest, I never auditioned. They just picked me out

of the line-up. I hate the outfit I have to wear!!! The hat is

a bowl and I play such a whiner! I don't really whine!!! Stupid writers...

Patamon and Mimi are my best friends off camera. Tai runs a close

second with Joe right behind him. I get along with most of the

Digimon, except Biyomon. What a jerk! She should take a flying leap!

I'm actually older than I look. I may only look 7, but I'm actually

10. Almost as old as Matt, Tai, Mimi, and Sora! Izzy's actually

the youngest of our cast, but I'm the one who's ROLE is the youngest!!!

The casting people also need to take a flying leap!!!

[The rest of the interview with TK was nothing but whining. The

interviewer wishes to say that they cast his part perfectly.]

JOE

I actually like the character I play on TV, but I'm not really a

chicken like that Joe. In fact, I don't even wear glasses, I wear

contact lenses. I'm not a straight-A student, but I come pretty

close. The scary part is that my part is starting to wear off on

me in the fact that I'm starting to LIKE doing homework!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!

Gomamon and I get along perfectly off camera. We're always seen

together. It's really scary in a way. The two of us fight on camera

about the stupidest things, but off camera we're pretty cool with

each other. We still fight about stupid things, but it's mostly

ribbing and nobody's ego gets too badly bruised. I get along with

the rest of the gang really well, but I'm assuming you already know

the problem with Biyomon. Little pink creep.

When I auditioned, I didn't have any clue what to expect. I had

just gotten out of acting school and was ready to start my career.

This was my first audition ever and I knew that I might not make

it, but not to get discouraged. I at first thought that the part

would be heroic or something until I read the lines when I was looking

over the "script". I decided to make it a kind of whine so that

I was REALLY annoying just like they wanted. I had to wait a week

before I found out that I was hired!!!

MIMI

Palmon, Sora, and I hang out a lot together, but I'm guessing that

Sora already told you that herself. In actuality, I HATE pink!!!

I also like to wear jeans and a T-shirt like Sora, but on the show

I have to wear a PINK DRESS!!! Double trouble for me. Oh, well.

The other "Digidestined" and the Digimon get along great together,

except for Biyomon and those disgusting Numemon! GROSS! That's

one thing my character and I have in common.

In fact, the Mimi I play on TV is the total opposite of me. I had

to really make a whiny voice when I auditioned. They thought it

was pretty funny and took me on since it fit the part. I was pretty

pleased when I found out that I was playing her, but a little resentful

that my part would be remembered as a whiny, fashion-crazed ditz.

Oh, well. Can't win them all.

I really like the Mimi that I play on "Digimon" to tell the truth.

Playing someone that is nothing like you really helps you improve

your acting skills. It's tough at first, but after you get used

to the part, it comes natural. I sometimes fake whine off camera

to make the others laugh. Like the first time we went into that

pizza parlor we always hang out at I said, in full Mimi-the-ditz

mode, "What? No linen tablecloths? Well, I guess we CAN rough

it." Everybody laughed hysterically.

IZZY

I'll be frank (but my name's really Izzy) and tell you that before

I got this part, I had no idea what the difference was between a

modem and a CPU. When I walked in to audition and looked at the

script, I knew I was in major trouble. There were about 20 people

ahead of me!!! All of them you could point at and say "computer

nerd", then you look at me and say, "What the heck?". I barely

managed to get the part since I stuck out from the crowd and I used

the word "Prodigious" instead of "Way cool". I was the last character to be cast.

I get along well with the rest of the crew. 'Cept Biyomon of course.

Can we say "stuck up"? I mostly hang out with the Digimon (those

fascinating creatures) and Matt. However, for some strange reason,

I've been spending more and more time with the I-book I was given

for the part. By the way, it IS a real I-book, but they just changed

the little apple symbol to a pineapple. Macintosh wanted to have

us keep the apple symbol, but it's too late to change it now!

I got used to the computer pretty fast. Meaning I could type 50

words per minute (not bad if I do say so myself) and I could understand

most of the lingo. But I lived in fear of the mouse. I was always

afraid that I'd crash the computer if I used it. THAT'S the reason

that the first few episodes had me only TYPING commands into my

computer. Finally, Tai introduced me to Solitaire (I have Windows95)

and told me to practice with that. Within a week, I was working

the mouse like a pro. Only problem was, I couldn't stop playing

that game! That and Minesweeper. Pretty sad when you think about it.

What do I think about the Izzy I play on TV? As Sora would say,

juicy part! Izzy has a secret that he won't tell anybody about

and it hurts him, but Tentomon has a feeling that he's hiding something.

I won't say what it is or I'll spoil it for the rest of you that

don't know. He's kind, even though he has an obsession with puzzles

and will stop at nothing to solve them. In the episode with the

temple for the Digivice, Izzy doesn't pay attention to Mimi and

she runs off into the maze with Tentomon, but he leads them to a

room he and Palmon can easily get them out of. That episode really

shows how out of phase with the rest of the world he really is.

I love it whenever we do those "Izzy episodes". They REALLY keep

you on your toes since you don't know what you'll find out about him next.

Author's note: All opinions are biased (very much so). I don't

want any lawsuits around here, so send your lawyers away. Now, for everyone's favorite part:

Here are some ratings just for fun

1 - Your ability to write was stolen by Vademon!!!

2 - That was worse than Demidevimon!

3 - Wasn't too bad, but wasn't too good either.

4 - Was pretty good, but needs to digivolve a little bit so it's a little better.

5 - Your ability to write is really good.

6 - Woah! Joe might want to borrow your notes from English!

7 - Even Mimi couldn't complain about this!

8 - Tai must be slipping you info or something!

9 - Who are you? A professional writer who just happens to like

Digimon?!

10 - Prodigious!
