news,
news, news.....
better late than never, a new update
3 years in the making!, lol.
anyway, went through and updated
my contact info wherever it appears and fixed all the broken links and
images that
i broke on the last update 3 years
ago.
i've also started a walker site on
mp3.com and put up the first exclusive unreleased song up there from our
very last recording that we did just months before we broke up. the song
is called "Rocketship" and was supposed to be on our side of the long cancelled
Walker/Squirtgun split. the drum
part that starts during the fadeout on the song is due to it being edited
together with the instrumental track "Graduation" that was to be the second
song on the split. if the discography comp ever sees the light of day,
those two songs will stay edited together as they would have been released
on the split.
speaking of the comp, i'm working
on getting it edited together myself now that i actually have a nice computer
with a studio
quality editing program and J.Charles
of the LafayetteMusic.net website is going to help me dump the DAT's onto
cd so i can do the editing. then hopefully, i can talk Scott Harmless into
releasing the disc, if not, then i will have covers printed up professionally
and burn off the cd's myself on cdr's. we just really want this stuff to
be available on cd after all these years, even if we have to do it ourselves.
well, that's about it for now. hopefully, it won't be another 3 years before
the next update!

Well, i finally did it! i finally got off my lazy ass and combined
the Walker and BoyNamedSue sites into one large page. i know it's been
a long time coming since BNS broke up back in the spring. i just got real
down about the whole thing when ben flaked out on us and we spent three
or four months without a drummer and basically i just kinda lost interest
in updating the site since there wasn't anything to report.
But now, we're close to actually putting out the Walker discography
comp and we've decided to include the four recorded BNS tracks at the end
of the CD. Mostly because the songs were actually songs that Dave and i
had written for the second(and lost) Walker album that never got played
outside of our practices without kenny after he had joined the General
MT Rhoads and stopped showing up for practice. We pretty much had the entire
second album written(musically) and were just waiting for kenny to actually
show up and write the lyrics so we could go record it.
But since that never happened, i wanted to keep some of the songs for
BNS since they were good songs and didn't want them to go to waste. Unfortunately,
we only got to record four of them, so they will be the only ones on the
comp. it would be nice to be able to just go and record all of the unrecorded/unreleased
stuff that i have on crappy 4-track tapes but i don't think that would
be a very unrealistic goal at this point.
Also, the squirtgun split has unfortunately finally been cancelled,
scroll down for the story.
anyway, i'm gonna wrap this up since i'm sure by this point in time,
no one will ever probably read this or give a shit anymore anyway. oh well..................

BNS's first
releases!!!
We have received a few more of
our copies of the BNS/Blew(rip)
split 7". Thirty more just showed up today and we're expecting the other
sixty to show up shortly. The Blew side absolutely rocks and our
side is already being compared to the early, faster Walker
stuff(no big suprise there). I've gotten word that several US distro's
and labels have gotten copies for sale. i'll try to put up a list of people
who are carrying it or you can just send $4ppd
to us(make check or M.O. out to Brad
Carlson or send WELL
concealed cash) to the address below and i'll get one out to you as soon
as possible. We're only getting 100 for ourselves and should run out pretty
quickly. I believe Bryan is getting a few copies for his Wagging Tongues
distro which you can find at his Door#3
site. As soon as i can get a disc burned with the songs on it i'll put
up a soundfile so you's can download it and all that other technological
type stuff.
Walker
Well,
walker is still broken up, nothing new
there, but the full-length discography comp "See
You In Hell Kid" is officially on
its way. we have managed to finally pay Mass and will begin
the process of going through all of the master d.a.t. tapes to find and
sequence the record pretty soon. we plan on putting EVERYTHINGwe
ever recorded on there(except the album of course) and a few other
unreleased tracks that will be exclusive to the comp. We have gotten alot
of mail expressing support and condolensces on Walker's passing. thanks.
Through all the ups and downs, the last four years or so were some of the
best times we've all had and most of it will be remembered in the extensive
liner notes I'm writing for the "See You
In Hell Kid..." comp.
The split 7" with Squirtgun
has officially been cancelled! Harmless finally gave up on the five year
late split since Walker's been broken up for over a year now and our tracks(Rocketship&Graduation)
will be used as exclusives on the walker discography comp. we apologise
to anyone who were possibly waiting for this record or even still remembered
or cared. it had been in the Harmless catalog as a "coming soon" item since
early '94.
There will also be a split 5"
with fellow defunct Harmless rec's
band Chemical Blue.
It
will feature the last existing and
Scott Harmless says best unreleased
Chem.
Blue song(which i also can't recall the
name of) and our cover of Dag Nasty's "Circles"
which we did with our friend Pat McClimans(Advance,
Endpoint, Falling Forward, Metroschifter, Tramlaw, etc, etc, etc.....)
playing guitar. It was part of our short lived Dag Nasty trib. band from
a couple a years ago. The covers will be hand printed and it'll be REAL
limited cause we're just doin it for the hell of it. i guess it's a collecter
nerd thing.......
If you missed out on catching
us live and are interested, i just found out that the Dorkboy
Punk Video guy we have a link to has
a tape of walker at the fireside bowl
in Chicago last january. it was also the show that was recorded for a VMLive
7" but the DAT tape got screwed up and the record never happened. i haven't
seen
the tape myself, but it should be pretty good.
hope
to hear from ya soon,
Brad
