The Wedding of the Century

On July 29,1981, Diana became the centerpiece of the royal wedding. Her wedding gown, designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel was made form 40 yards of silk spun form the only silk farm in Britian. "She wanted the dress to be something the people would love to watch", recalled Elizabeth Emanuel. On the morning of the wedding, at Clarence House, Nina Missetzis (who had spent three months hand-stiching Diana's wedding gown) said that Diana "seemed very nervous. She said 'Do I really have to go out in front of all these people?'" (Reffering to the thousands that lined the streets and the 750 million that watched on t.v.s worldwide.)

Ofcourse she did!! She came out, and looked sooooo beautiful, that she took everyone's breath away. Diana Frances Spencer entered St. Paul's Cathedral, took her vows with Prince Charles, and re-emmerged as Her Royal Highness, Diana, Princess of Wales. The couple recieved 47,000 letter of congratulations and 10,000 presents. $400 million worth of wedding souvenirs were sold worldwide.
