Syracuse Snowballs -Michele:ROD Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
1/2 c butter
1/4 c light brown sugar
1 egg, separated
1 c flour
1/4 c powdered sugar
1/4 c orange marmalade
Cream butter and sugar together
then add egg yolk and flour.
Roll dough into 1" balls and
dip into egg white.
Place on a greased cookie sheet and
press centers down slightly with thumb.
Bake for 5 minutes at 325 degrees F.
Remove and gently press down again.
Bake 15 minutes more;
cool for 10 minutes and fill with
a teaspoon or so of orange marmalade.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
(The sugar will dissolve into the marmalade in a minute or two.)
Makes about 15 cookies.

Victorian Gingerbread Valentines -Dianna: ROD Exchange
Ingredients:Directions:
2 1/2 cups unsifted flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/3 cup dark corn syrup
1 large egg
In large bowl, sift together flour,
cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.
Blend together margarine
and brown sugar until smooth.
Add corn syrup and egg; beat well.
Add dry ingredients, about
one-third at a time,
mixing until smooth after each addition.
Chill dough one hour.
Roll out half of dough
on lightly floured surface
to one-quarter-inch thickness.
(Reserve other half for decorations
or for a second batch of cookies.)
Using heart-shaped cookie cutter,
press out cookie shapes or use knife to cut around a pattern.
Place hearts on cookie sheet.
Decorate as desired.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until golden.
Remove and place on wire racks to cool.
Store in covered container.
Makes about eight 4 1/2 inch cookies.

Potato Chip Cookie Mix
Ingredients: Directions:
1 C sugar
1 1/2 C (after crushing)potato chips
2/3 C chopped pecans
2 1/2 C flour
1 t baking powder
mix flour with baking powder and set aside
Layer ingredients in a wide mouthed 1 qt canning jar
beginning with the sugar and ending with the flour mixture
Press each layer in firmly before adding the next
attach a copy of the following recipe to the jar

Potato Chip Cookies
Ingredients: Directions:
jar of mix
2 sticks softened butter or margarine
1 t vanilla
pour jar of mix into a lg bowl
add other ingredients
mix thoroughly
shape into walnut sized balls
place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet
Flatten slightly with palm
bake at 350 degrees F for 14-18 minutes
edges slightly browned
Cool on sheet for 5 minutes
remove to racks for complete cooling
makes 2 1/2 dozen
