Trick-or-Treat Cookies in a Pail Mix
Ingredients:Directions:
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C brown sugar, packed
1 3/4 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1 pkg of bite-sized peanut butter cups (at least 24)
Note: you may substitute any bite-sized chocolate candy, i.e.Rolos)
1 pkg paper baking cups
Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder
Thoroughly blend all dry ingredients in a 1 qt zippered freezer bag
Place in Halloween Pail along with the bag of candy and baking cups
Make a copy of the recipe below to place in the pail, along with a wooden mixing spoon
and/or the recipe pinned to a hot pad

Trick-or-Treat Cookies in a Pail
Ingredients:Directions:
1 stick butter or 8 T margarine or butter, softened
1 med egg, lightly beaten
1 t vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Empty contents of the freezer bag into a lg mixing bowl
Hand blend thoroughly
Add the butter, egg and extract
Mix thoroughly (you may need to use your hands)
Shape into 2 in. balls
Place in paper baking cups in a muffin tin
Press unwrapped peanut butter cups in the center of each ball of dough
Bake 12-15 min, until edges are slightly browned
Cool in muffin tin for 5 min before removing to cooling racks
Makes approximately 2 dz cookies.

Yogurt Raisin Cookies in a Jar Mix
Ingredients:Directions:
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C brown sugar, packed
1 C yogurt covered raisins
1/2 C carob or chocolate chips
1 3/4 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder
layer ingredients in a 1 qt wide-mouth canning jar, in this order:
sugar...brown sugar ...raisins...chips...flour mixture
Remember to press each layer firmly into place before adding the next ingredient
If flour mixture clings to the sides of the jar, wipe with a damp paper towel
Cover the jar lid with a pretty piece of seasonal fabric or
gift wrap, tying it off with a ribbon
Make a copy of the recipe below to attach to the ribbon,
along with a wooden mixing spoon and/or pin the recipe
to a hot pad and attach to the jar's ribbon

Empty contents of the jar into a lg mixing bowl
Hand blend thoroughly
Add the butter, egg and extract
Mix thoroughly (you may need to use your hands)
Shape into 1 1/2 in. balls
Place on prepared baking sheet (spray or dark coated pan), 2 in. apart
Bake 12-15 min, until slightly browned
Cool on baking sheet for 5 min before removing to cooling racks
Makes approximately 2 dz cookies.
