Who We Are

We are a network of Black professionals, volunteers, and students, in the social work, human services, education, criminal justice, mental health, government, religion, child and family services, corrections, and many other related fields.

We have a common mission of:

  • Providing the structure and forum through which Black Social Workers and any workers in related fields of social service, and interested citizens may exchange ideas, offer thier service, develop, and refine skills in the interest of the Black Community and the community at-large.
  • Working in cooperation with, or to support, develop or sponsor community welfare projects and programs that will serve the interest of the Black Community and the community at-large.
  • Strengthening human services and all service systems in all aspects pertaining to the Black Community, and to ensure that services are available and adequate to Black indiviuals, families, groups and the community (National Association of Black Social workers, 1968)
