AN INTRODUCTION
- The B-K Machine Company building is a historical location with over ten decades of machine shop work and manufacturing experience, where their company is a family-owned and five-generation 'Buck family' operated diversified machining and manufacturing job-shop tailored to handle a variety of work, anywhere from engine dismantling, remanufacturing, cleaning, inspecting, turning and milling, as well as shipping parts. B-K Machine Co. can take the toughest jobs, big or small.
- Founded in 1905, B-K Machine Co. is a 100 (one-hundred) year old customer service oriented provider of precision machining, repairs and parts for clients across North America in a diverse range of industries.
- The B-K Machine Company philosophy is based upon good old-fashioned values. The staff pride themselves by serving their customers with dedicated highly skilled machinists and technicians, who provide quality workmanship with friendly, professional and dependable service at competitive prices.

A BRIEF HISTORY
- 1905 : Originally known as "Kemp Machine Works" and founded in 1905 by Mr. George W. Kemp of Muncie, Indiana. The 'Kemp Machine Works' was primarily engaged in general repairs, although the owner, Mr. George Kemp, was also a pioneer in the manufacturer of Air-Cooled Airplane (Aeroplane) Engines, Air-Drive Outfits for Boats, Motor Sleighs and Ice Boats.

1944 : Kemp Machine Works became "B-K Machine Company" when Mr. Basil Bentz became a partner. (Bentz & Kemp = B & K.)
2005 : Mr. Winford Buck, today's owner and operator, bought the business from Mr. Phil Stewart. Mr. Buck had worked for B-K Machine Company for many years prior to the purchase, while also operating his own business, "B & B Automotive Machine Shop" at
1339 E. 18th St..
When asked if he will change the name of the recently purchased 'B-K Machine Company', Mr. Buck smiled and said 'B-K' will now stand for "Buck and Kids". (Buck & Kids = B & K.)
Today B-K Machine Co. specializes in small engine parts and drive shafts. They also do cylinder boring, valve grinding, crankshaft grinding, engine balancing, rebuilding engines and sell new replacement parts for engines.
B-K Machine Company is committed to help customers define and resolve technical and manufacturing issues with cost-effective solutions.

THE WINFORD BUCK FAMILY
- B-K Machine Company owner, Mr. Winford Buck, has been in the machine company business since 1963. He, his wife Betty and their children appear in this 2005 photo, above.
