Andy Parker

Andy Parker

Detective Third, and I assure you, that's all he'll ever be. He is the designated sleazeball of the precinct, and seems to like it that way.

In a way, it's not his fault. Lloyd Andrew Parker served his country in Italy during WWII, returned home, married one Alice Patricia Parker, and joined the police force. He began his career in the 31st Precinct. One night while walking his beat, he was beaten by a gang of hoodlums. His broken bones healed, but his spirit did not. Forever after, Andy Parker gave it to people before people could give it to him. Shades of Roger Havilland . . Another tour was served Calm's POint 64th Precinct.

Alice divorced him, and moved to California. Astoundingly, he does not lack for female companionship. A stripper named Peaches Muldoon (related to Roger Havilland's Peggy Muldoon?) comes into his life and brightens things considerably. Still later, in Mischief, Cataline Herrera, mother of a murder victim, joins Parker in his bed. One can only wonder . . .

Character development in Mischief proves that he possesses investigative skills, never mind the monologue in his head.
