JUNIOR CHURCH COVENANT SERVICE

HYMN OR SONG

PRAYER OF ADORATION AND PRAISE

Lord, we praise you for the beautiful things around us; for the earth and
everything in it, your generous gifts to us. We praise you and your love
which is always with us. We want you to be our father, and the whole world
to be our family.
Help us to live together in peace and to love our neighbours as you love
us.
Help us to learn more about you and your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, we know we do not always worship you as you would want us to, and we
do not share in fellowship with other Christians as we should. We admit
our failure to act on what we believe and our neglect of the gifts you have
given us.
We are sorry. Lord; please forgive us.
Our Lord Jesus Christ says to those who turn to him: "Your sins are
forgiven."
Thank you Lord. Amen.

BIBLE READING AND PAUSE FOR THOUGHT

THE COVENANT

God has promised that those who put their trust in Jesus are his children
and that he will live in their hearts forever. We give thanks that Jesus
died on the cross to give us life and we make our promise to give ourselves
to him and live for him each day.

My life is not my possession, but it belongs to you, Lord, for you made it.
You are the Lord and Master of my life.
Therefore, take my life and use it as you think best,
in good times and difficult times,
when I succeed and when I fail,
when I am healthy and when I am ill,
when I am appreciated by others for what I do for you
and when they hate me for it,
when serving you brings me honour and when it brings suffering.
I offer you my whole life in order to serve you.
You are mine and I am yours.
Amen.

THE THANKSGIVING

Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Heavenly Father, we rejoice in your goodness to us. We praise you for
making us and for making the earth so that we are fed. We thank you that
we can work together with you to discover your gifts and share them with
all the world. Thank you for this bread and this wine which we share here
today and for all who have been involved in its preparation.

Much more than this, we thank you that in our Lord Jesus Christ you meet
our need for forgiveness, through his death on the cross. May this bread
and this wine remind us of our need of him. With all your people on earth
and in heaven we praise you for all that you have given us through Jesus,
saying:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
	Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
	Hosanna in the highest.

So with this meal, we remember his death with thanksgiving, and we proclaim
that he is alive and is our Lord and Saviour.

Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

May we who receive this bread and this wine share in the body and blood of
our Lord Jesus Christ and be made strong in our union with him. Amen.

All honour and glory be yours O Lord our God, forever and ever. Amen.

THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD

The bread we break is a sharing in the body of Christ.

Though we are many, we are one body,
because we all share in the one loaf.

A PRAYER BEFORE THE SHARING

We come to your table because you invite us, Lord. We are not worthy, but
you call us your friends. We humbly admit that we need you to feed us with
your presence. May all who share this feast, feel your touch today. Amen.
