Gorphenwyd pwy a dd'wedodd hyn?
Gorphenwyd pwy a lefodd hyn?

1,2,3;  1,3,2,4,5.
"Gorphenwyd!" Pwy a dd'wedodd hyn?
Yr Iesu ar Galfaria fryn:
  Hon oedd yr olaf lef a roes
  Pan oedd yn trengu ar y groes.

Gorphenwyd beth? gorphenwyd poen
Y croeshoeliedig addfwyn Oen;
  Ac addewidion llawer oes
  A lwyr gyflawnwyd ar y groes.

Gorphenwyd? pa orpheniad fu?
Gorphenwyd maeddu uffern ddu,
  Gorphenwyd angeu angeu'i hun,
  Gorphenwyd iechydwriaeth dyn.

Gorphenwyd, do, 'r cysgodau oll,
A'r addewidion yn ddi-goll;
  Prophwydoliaethau llawer oes,
  A lwyr gyflawnwyd ar y groes.

Gorphenwyd talu'r ddyled fawr
Oedd bron a llethu
    plant y llawr,
  Nad all'sai neb ei thalu byth
  Ond y Messiah mawr di-lyth.
dd'wedodd :: lefodd
angeu angeu'i hun :: angeu, angeu'i hun

James Hughes (Iago Trichrug) 1779-1844

Tôn [MH 8888]: Stirling (Ralph Harrison 1748-1810)

"It is finished!" Who was it who said this?
Jesus on Calvary hill:
  This was the last cry he gave
  When he was perishing on the cross.

What was finished? Finished was the pain
Of the crucified, meek Lamb;
  And promises of many an age
  Were completely fulfilled on the cross.

Finished? What finish was there?
Finished was the bashing of black hell,
  Finished was the death of death itself,
  Finished was the salvation of man.

Finished, yes, all the shadows,
And the promises without fail;
  Propecies of many an age,
  Were completely fulfilled on the cross.

Finished paying the great debt
That was almost smothering
    the children of earth,
  No-one could ever pay it
  But the great unfailing Messiah.
said :: cried
death of death itself :: death, death itself

tr. 2015,25 Richard B Gillion
