Cenwch, a churwch ddwylaw 'nghyd,
Holl bobl y byd cyfannedd;
A llafar genwch i Dduw nef,
Gan leisio â llef gorfoledd.
Sef ofni'r Duw
uwch daear gron,
Ef sydd dros hon yn Frenin;
Dwg bobloedd danom,
a phob gwaed,
A than ein traed fe'u disgyn.
O cenwch, cenwch glod ein Duw;
Ein brenin yw, O cenwch:
Duw dros y byd sy Frenin call,
Trwy ddëall ymhyfrydwch.
Yr Arglwydd yn teyrnasu sydd
Ar wledydd y cenedloedd;
Gan eistedd ar ei orsedd gu,
Uwch
disglaer lu y nefoedd.
Ymgasglant bendefigion byd,
Ynghyd â llu Duw Abra'm:
Daw bîau
tariannau y tir,
Drwy foliant hir yn ddinam.
Tôn [MS 8787]: Llanbeblig (<1835) |
Sing, and clap your hands together,
All you people of the inhabited world;
Loudly sing to the God of heaven,
While voicing with a cry of jubilation.
The fear of God will stand
above the round earth,
He who is over this as King;
He will bring peoples under us,
and every blood,
And under our feet he will humiliate them.
O sing, sing praise to our God;
Our king he is, O sing:
God over the world is a wise King,
Through understanding take delight.
The Lord is reigning
Over the countries of the nations;
Sitting on his dear throne,
Higher than
the shining host of heaven.
The nobles of the world will gather,
Together with the God of Abraham's host:
The owners
of the shields of the land will come,
Through long praise faultlessly.
tr. 2011 Richard B Gillion |
1 All ye people clap your hands,
and with triumphant voices sing;
2 No force the mighty power withstands,
of God, the universal King.
3 He shall opposing
nations quell,
and with success our battles fight,
4 Shall fix the place
where we must dwell,
the pride of Jacob, his delight.
5 God is gone up, our Lord and King,
with shouts of joy and trumpet's sound;
6 To him repeated praises sing,
and let the cheerful song go round.
7 Your utmost skill in praise be shown,
for him, who all the world commands;
8 Who sits upon his righteous throne,
and spreads his sway
o'er heathen lands.
9 Our chiefs and tribes that far from hence,
to serve the God of Abr'am came,
Found him
their constant sure defence:
how great and glorious is his Name!
