Boed cariad brawdol cywir, brwd
Fel llydan ffrwd yn llifo
Drwy Salem deg, preswylfa Duw
Gan daenu'n ddilyw yno.
Cyfeillach sanctaidd siriol sydd
Fel gwlith ar feysydd gleision
Mae'n lledu hedd allwyddiant pur
I holl breswylwyr Seion.
Brawdgarwch mwyn ac undeb maith
Ym mawrglod waith yr Arglwydd
Sydd addas iawn
i'r ddinas hardd
A'r tŷ lle
tardd sancteiddrwydd.
O! am feddiannu hwn o hyd
Wrth fynd drwy'r byd presennol;
Cymdeithas hoff, gariadus, bur -
Rydd inni gysur nefol.
Tonau [MS 8787]: |
Let true, fervent brotherly love
Like broad streams flowing
Through fair Salem, the habitation of God
Spreading as a deluge there.
Holy, cheerful fellowship is
Like dew on green fields
It is spreading peace and pure prosperity
To all the inhabitants of Zion.
Gentle brotherhood and widespread unity
In the praiseworthy work of the Lord
Which is very suitable
to the beautiful city
And the house from where
holiness issues.
O to possess this always
While going through the present world;
Fond, loving, pure fellowship -
Which will give to us a heavenly comfort.
tr. 2008 Richard B Gillion |
Let love of brother, strong and true
In copious streams be flowing
From Salem down to earth below
In every corner going.
For like the dew on verdant fields
Are friends we can rely on
They spread success and peace abroad
To all who dwell in Zion.
Kind fellowship and unity
Befit the humble dwelling
As much as heaven's
courts above
God's work
therein forthtelling.
O, grant we may possess it here
Our earthly life to leaven
For pure and loving brotherhood
Is like a breath of heaven.
