Yr Arglwydd, Brenin nef a llawr,
Ei orsedd fawr gwnaeth uchod;
Mae'n llywodraethu'r byd uwchben,
A'r holl ddaearen isod.
Boed i'r llu dysglaer gyd â pharch,
Sy'n dysgwyl arch
eu Llywydd,
A gwylio ei eglwysi glân,
Gyd-seinio cân o glodydd.
Tra fyddo ei holl ryfeddol waith,
Trwy'i deyrnau faith yn traethu
Gogoniant Duw, fy enaid cai
Am drugareddau ganu.

[Mesur: MS 8787] gwelir: Rho'wn fawl i Dduw ar felus dôn |
The Lord, the King of heaven and earth,
His great throne he made on high;
He governs the world overhead,
And the whole earth below.
Let the radiant host with reverence,
Who are awaiting the command
of their Governor,
And watching his holy churches,
Resound song of praises.
While ever all his wonderful work be
Throughout his vast realms expounding
The glory of God, my soul shall get
About mercies to sing.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
|
The Lord, the sovereign king,
Hath fixed His throne on high;
O'er all the heavenly world He rules,
And all beneath the sky.
Let the bright hosts who wait
The orders of
their king,
And guard His churches when they pray,
Join in the praise they sing.
While all His wondrous works
Through His vast kingdom show
Their maker's glory, thou, my soul,
Shalt sing His graces, too.
Isaac Watts 1674-1748
