Yn unigrwydd y mynyddoedd

(Dan Ddefnyddau'r Nos)
Yn unigrwydd y mynyddoedd
  Gwelaf Di, fy Iesu mawr,
Heb un cysgod dan y nefoedd
  I orffwyso munud awr;
    Ceidwad f'enaid
  Dan ddefnynnau gwlith y nos.

Ar ofalon byd aflonydd
  Pan ddisgynnai llenni'r hwyr,
Tynnai bywyd i'w fagwyrydd
  I fwynhau tangnefedd llwyr;
    Mewn tawelwch
  Cysgai pawb ond Ti Dy Hun.

Ceraist lwybrau yr encilion,
  Yn lluddedig ac yn brudd;
A gofidiau byd afradlon
  Yn dwyshau Dy welw rudd;
    Yn y dirgel
  Minnau gaf Dy gwmni Di.

Caraf feddwl am y bryniau
  Fu yn llety'r nos i Ti;
Lle mae atgof am Dy ddagrau
  A'th ymbiliau drosof fi:
    Dirion Iesu,
  Ni chei fod yn unig mwy.

(Under the Droplets of the Night)
In the loneliness of the mountains
  I see Thee, my great Jesus,
Without any shelter under heaven
  To rest for a single minute;
    Saviour of my soul,
  Under the droplets of the night dew.

On the cares of a troubled world
  When the curtains of evening fell,
Life would draw into its walls
  To enjoy complete tranquility;
    In quietness
  Everyone would sleep but Thou Thyself.

Thou didst love the paths of the retreats,
  Exhausted and sad;
With the griefs of a prodigal world
  Deepening Thy pale cheek;
    In secret
  I too may get Thy company.

I love to think about the hills
  Which were a lodging by night for thee;
Where there is reminding of Thy tears
  And thy petitions for me:
    Tender Jesus,
  Thou shalt not get to be lonely any more.
