Yn mysg trigolion y nef faith

(Myfyrdod am Dduw)
Yn mysg trigolion
    y nef faith,
  A'u deall perffaith tanllyd;
Eithafoedd a dyfnderoedd Duw,
  Ni all un rhyw gyrhaeddyd.

Ni all ysprydion chwilio'r Tad,
  A dirnad ei gadarnwch;
Ond enw rhyfedd Duw mawrhant,
  A gwelant ei brydferthwch.

Meddiannydd dwyfol ras a hedd,
  Trugaredd, a phob doniau;
Gwirionedd a sancteiddrwydd fyth,
  Dilyth briodoliaethau.

Wrth gynghor ei ewyllys ddoeth
  Y mae ei goeth weithredoedd;
Ac y mae ei lywodraeth fawr
  Trwy'r ddaear lawr a'r nefoedd.

Hwn yw'r hael Dduw anfeidrol dda,
  Yn ol i Adda syrthio,
O'i fynwes rhoes ei Fab yn rhad,
  O rasol gariad ato.

Fel anrheg o anfeidrol werth,
  Yn aberth llawn dros bechod;
A dynol ryw oedd oll yn gaeth,
  Yn Nghrist fe wnaeth gyfamod.

Ac er hollbresenoldeb Duw,
  (Ar ddynol ryw bo'i arswyd;)
Ni chair ef gan bechadur trist,
  Ond yn y Crist a hoeliwyd.

Y'Nghrist fe wnaethpwyd Duw yn un
  Ag euog ddyn truenus;
Ymgyfarfyddant ynddo'n llon,
  Mewn heddwch gogoneddus.

Duw, derbyn ninau yn ei Iawn,
  Lle cefaist lawn foddlondeb;
Lle cawn fwynhau
    dy gyfiawn hedd,
  Dros byth yn ngwedd dy wyneb.

Ein moliant derbyn yn ei rwydd
  Berffeithrwydd bendigedig;
A dwg ni'th deyrnas,
    nefol Dad,
  Drwy'r Ceidwad didrangcedig.

[Mesur: MS 8787]

(Meditation about God)
In the midst of the inhabitants
    of vast heaven,
  And their perfect fiery understanding;
The extremities and depths of God,
  No one at all can reach.

Spirits cannot search the Father,
  And grasp his firmness;
But the wonderful name of God they magnify,
 And they see his beauty.

The possessor of divine grace and peace,
   Mercy and all gifts;
Truth and holiness forever,
  Unfailing attributes.

By the counsel of his wise will
  Are his intricate actions;
And his great government is
  Throughout the earth below and heaven.

He is the generous, immeasurable, good God,
  After Adam fell,
From his bosom he gave his Son freely,
  From gracious love to him.

As a gift of infinite worth,
  As a full sacrifice for sin;
With human kind who was all captive,
  In Christ he made reconciliation.

And since omnipresent God,
  (Over human kind be his terror;)
He is not to be got by a sad sinner,
  Except in the Christ who was crucified.

In Christ God was made one
  With wretched guilty man;
The are found in him cheerfully,
  In glorious peace.

God, accept us too in the Atonement,
  Where thou didst get full satisfaction;
Where we may get to enjoy
    thy righteous peace,
  Forever in the countenance of thy face.

Accept our praise in his free,
  Blessed perfection;
And bring us to thy kingdom,
    heavenly Father,
  Through the undying Saviour.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
