(Adferiad heddwch; neu Duw o blaid ei eglwys.)
Yn Judah ac Israël dir
Adwaenir ein Duw cyfion:
Ei babell ef yn Salem sydd,
A'i breswyl fydd yn Sïon.
Fe ddrylliodd yno'r bŵa a'r saeth,
A'r frwydr a wnaeth yn ddarnau;
A thorodd ef yn chwilriw mân,
Bob tarian a phob cleddau.
Bu'r trawsion
fel mynyddau gynt,
Mewn yspail helynt uchel:
Ond uwch a chryfach
wyt na hwy,
Nid rhaid byth mwy mo'u gochel.
O'r nefoedd peraist
glywed barn,
Duw cadarn wyt
trwy'r hollfyd:
Y ddaear ofnodd, a'i holl lu
Ro'ist i ostegu enyd.
Diau cynddaredd dyn a'th fawl,
Yn hollawl yn nydd trallod:
Cysgod etifeddion ffydd,
Ac uniawn fydd dy ddyrnod.
Eich rhodd i'r Arglwydd Dduw a ddêwch,
A llawn gwblhêwch eich gobrwy:
Pawb sydd o amgylch Sïon deg,
Rhowch anrheg i'r Ofnadwy.
Ef a ostyngodd uchel fryd,
Ac ysbryd gwyr rhyfelgar:
Fe a ỳr ofn
yn nghanol hedd,
Ar holl freninedd daear.

Tonau [MC 8686]: |
(The restoration of peace; or God on the church's side.)
In the land of Judah and Israel
Our righteous God is to be recognised:
His tent is in Salem,
And his residence will be in Zion.
He shattered there the bow and the arrow,
And the battle he made into pieces;
And he turned into small fragments,
Every shield and every sword.
The severe ones were
like ancient mountains,
In the plunder of a high matter:
But higher and stronger
art thou than they,
With never any need to avoid them.
From the heavens thou didst cause
judgment to be heard,
A firm God art thou
throughout the whole world:
The earth feared, and all its host
Thou hast made still for a while.
Doubtless the fury of man shall praise thee,
Wholly in the day of trouble:
Thou shalt shadow the heirs of faith,
And upright shall be thy day.
Your gift to the Lord God bring ye,
And fully fulfil your payment:
All who are around fair Zion,
Give a present to the Fearsome one.
He has humbled a haughty mind,
And a spirit of belligerent men:
He shall drive fear
in the midst of peace,
Upon all kings of earth.

1 In Judah the Almighty's known,
(Almighty there by wonders shown,)
His Name in Jacob does excel;
2 His sanctuary in Salem stands;
the Majesty that heav'n commands
In Zion condescends to dwell.
3 He brake the bow and arrows there,
the shield, the tempered sword, and spear,
There slain the mighty army lay;
4 Whence Zion's fame through earth is spread,
of greater glory, greater dread,
Than hills where robbers lodge their prey.
5 Their valiant chiefs, who came for spoil,
themselves met there a shameful foil;
Securely down to sleep, they lay:
But waked no more; their stoutest band
Ne'er lifted one resisting hand
'Gainst his, that did their legions slay.
8 Pronounced from heav'n,
earth heard its doom;
grew hushed with fear,
when thou did'st come,
9 The meek with justice to restore:
10 The wrath of man shall yield thee praise;
its last attempts but serve to raise
The triumphs of Almighty pow'r.
1l Vow to the Lord, ye nations; bring
vowed presents to th' eternal King;
Thus to his Name due rev'rence pay:
12 Who proudest potentates can quell;
to earthly kings more terrible,
Than to their trembling subjects they.
