Y nefol Air
sy'n fywiol faeth,
Derbyniwn ef yn fwyn;
O hudawl faglau pechod caeth
Mae hwn yn ceisio'n dwyn;
Mae hwn yn gwa'dd pechadur trist
O'i anllad ffyrdd yn ol;
I hwn yn ufudd dyro glust,
Ti was afradlon ffol.
Yn denu dyn mae llawer twyll
I rodio 'mhell o lwybrau pwyll;
I adael heddwch tŷ ei Dad,
A chrwydro'n wyllt mewn anial wlad:
Ond Gair ein Duw sy'n addysg rydd
I'n harwain mewn goleuni dydd;
Rhown ein myfyrdod arno'n llawn,
Ac yna gwir orfoledd cawn.
Gair yw a saif
yn oll o'i nerth,
Yn ddim pan fyddo'r byd;
Saif hwn er pob
chwyldroad certh
Yn gadarn oll i gyd:
Hudoliaeth byd
a'i bleser gau
A dderfydd cyn bo hir:
Yr amser sydd yn agoshâu
Na phrisir ond y gwir.
O! rhoddwn oll ein
bryd a'n cais
I wrando'r dwyfol dirion lais;
Yn arwain mae i fryniau'r hedd,
Lle gyda Duw mae bythawl wledd, -
Lle'n llifo mae gorfoledd mad,
Heb ddim ar feth
trwy gyrrau'r wlad;
Lle nad oes gelyn,
cur, na chlwy',
Na 'madael byth
â'n gilydd mwy.

The heavenly Word
which is lively nourishment,
Let us receive meekly;
From the enchanting snares of captive sin
He is seeking to take us;
He is welcoming a sad sinner
Back from his wanton ways;
To him obediently turn an ear,
Thou foolish, prodigal lad.
To seduce a man there is many a deception
To roam far from wise paths;
To leave the peace of his Father's house,
And wander wildly in a desert land:
But the Word of our God gives teaching
To lead us in the light of day;
Let us set our meditation fully upon it,
And here true rejoicing we may get.
A Word it is which shall stand
in all of it's strength,
When the world is nothing;
This shall stand despite every
vehement revolution
Wholly firm altogether:
The enchantment of the world
and its false pleasure
Shall end before long:
The time is drawing near
When only the truth is to be valued.
O let us all give our
intent and our request
To listen to the divine, tender voice;
Leading it is to the hills of peace,
Where with God is an eternal feast, -
Where flowing is virtuous exultation,
Without anything on the decline
throughout the corners of the land:
Where there is no enemy,
beating, or wound,
Nor departing ever
from each other any more.
