Yn nheyrnas nef dymunwn fyw,
Ac aros yno gyda'm Duw,
  A chanu iddo glod.
Cyfyng yw'r porth, a chul yw'r ffordd,
  Gelynion amal sy;
Er hyny nerth a gaf yn ol y dydd.
Ar frigau'r tònau teithio 'rwyf,
A'm golwg tua'r Ganaan glyd,
  Dan ganu at Dduw, 'rwyn dod.
Hyfryd a llon fydd
    teithio 'nghyd,
A'n golwg 'tua'r Ganaan glyd;
  Dan ganu at Dduw, 'rwy'n dod.

In the kingdom of heaven I would live,
And abide there with my God,
  And sing praise to him.
Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
  Many enemies there are;
Despite this strength I may get after the day.
On the crests of the waves I am travelling,
With my view toward the secure Canaan,
