Y rhai o dan dy gysgod, ION,
Yn gyson a arosant,
Dan lewyrchiadau d'wyneb pryd,
Y rhai'n fel ŷd adfywiant.
Blodeuant, tyfant tu a'r nèn,
Fel y winwydden ffrwythlon;
A bydd eu harogl wrth eu trin,
Mor bêr a gwin Lebanon.
Lledant eu gwraidd mewn daear fras,
Wrth afon gras y bywyd;
Eu ceinciau gerdd,
eu tegwch fydd,
Fel olewydd yn hyfryd.
William Edwards 1773-1853
Tonau [MS 8787]: gwelir: Y rhai a blannwyd yn nhŷ Dduw |
Those under thy shadow, Lord,
Who constantly wait,
Under the rays of thy countenance,
They like grain shall revive.
They shall flourish, grow towards the sky,
Like the fruitful vine;
And their scent as they are treated,
As sweet as the wine of Lebanon.
Their roots shall spread in rich earth,
By the river of the grace of life;
Their branches of verse,
their fairness shall be,
Like olive trees delightful.
