Y Lo's (Ddyoddefodd Iesu ar gro's)

(Crist yn marw dros ei Ddefaid, Ioan x. 11.)
      Y Lo's
Ddyoddefodd Iesu ar gro's
Wna'm henaid ganu
        ganol nos;
  Fe roes ei anwyl werthfawr wa'd,
    I gadw'i braidd a'i weinion Wyn,
  Fe fyn eu dwyn i dŷ ei Dad.

      Rhyw awr,
Fe welir tyrfa fel y wawr,
Yn d'od yn iach о'r cystudd mawr,
  Ar ddysclaer wedd eu Priod glān,
    A'u gwisgoedd wedi eu cąnu'n wyn,
  Fe fydd pryd hyn ryw ryfedd gān.

(Christ dying for his Sheep, John 10:11.)
      The anguish
Jesus suffered on the cross
Makes my soul sing
        in the middle of the night;
  He gave his beloved precious blood,
    To keep his flock and his weak lambs,
  He will bear them to his Father's house.

      Some hour,
A throng shall be seen like the dawn,
Coming safely from the great tribulation,
  In the radiant image
          of their holy Bridegroom,
    With their garments bleached white,
  There shall be then some wonderful song.
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion
