Y fywiol ffydd o'r nefoedd wen

(Ffydd)
Y fywiol ffydd o'r nefoedd wen
Anturia'n hyf at Grist ein Pen;
  A'n dwyn i'r ddedwydd Nef a wna
  Lle na bydd
      gorthrm byth na phla.

Hon rydd i mi bob bendith sydd
Yn angen arnaf nos a dydd;
  Ymlida i fwrdd pob cysur gau
  A chodi'm serch i'r nefoedd mae.

Hi wna i'r galon guro'n llon
Dan holl ofidiau'r ddaear hon.
  Rhydd i'r hiraethus gysur mad,
  A hawl i'r plant
      i dy eu Tad.

O Dduw rho imi ffydd ddi-goll
I fyn'd yn mlae'n drwy'm rhwystrau oll;
  Y ffydd a'm dwg drwy'r olaf awr
  Yn fythol iach i'r Gwynfyd mawr.

    (Luther Orlando Emerson 1820-1915)

(Faith)
The living faith from bright heaven
Will venture boldly to Christ our Head;
  And bring us to the happy Heaven it will do
  Where there shall be neither
      oppression nor plague.

This will give me every blessing which
I need night and day;
  Chasing away every false comfort
  And raising my affection to heaven it is.

It makes the heart beat cheerfully
Under all the griefs of this earth.
  It gives to the longing virtuous comfort,
  And the right to the children
      to their Father's house.

O God, give me unfailing faith
To go forward through all my frustrations;
  The faith will bring me through the last hour
  Forever whole to the great Paradise.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
