Wele gadarn sylfaen Seion,
Ar y graig dragwyddol gref!
Pan falurio'r bryniau mawrion,
Saif preswylfa
Brenin nef:
Wele ddisglair furiau'r ddinas!
Wele'i 'strydoedd
hardd eu gwedd!
Wele, mewn adeilad addas
Orsedd fainc Tywysog hedd!
Ar yr amryw wych ddinasoedd
Mawr ragora Seion gu;
Duw ei hun a adeiladodd
Yno'i deg frenhinol dŷ:
Gogoneddus bethau rhyfedd
A ddatguddir am y gaer;
Hardd Gaersalem yw gorfoledd
Ac anrhydedd yr holl ddae'r.
Hoffa'r Arglwydd ei phyrth gloywon,
Lle daw'r llwythau llon ynghyd;
Lle ymgynnull ei chantorion
A'i cherddorion o un bryd:
O mor hyfryd yw'r cyfarfod!
O'r fath orfoleddus lu!
Pêr ddatseinia'r ddinas hynod
Wrth foliannu'r Brenin cu.

Tonau [8787D]: |
See the firm foundation of Zion,
On the strong, eternal rock!
When the great hills crumble,
The dwelling of the King
of heaven shall stand:
See the city's shining walls!
See her streets of a
beautiful appearance!
See, in a suitable building
The throne of the Prince of peace!
Over the various brilliant cities
Greatly does dear Zion excel;
God himself has built
There his fair royal house:
Glorious things of wonder
Shall be revealed about the citadel;
Beautiful Jerusalem is the joy
And the honour of the whole earth.
The Lord favours her shining gates,
Where the tribes joyfully come together;
Where her singers gather
With her musicians of one intent:
O how delightful is the meeting!
O what a jubilant throng!
Sweetly shall resound the notable city
While praising the dear King.
