Rhown glod a mawl i'r Iesu mad

Rhown glod a mawl
    i'r Iesu mad,
  Mewn Haleluia lân;
Dyfnderoedd maith ei gariad rhad
  Sydd hyfryd destyn cân.

Pwy all beidio rhoddi clod
  Yn rhwydd i'r addfwyn Oen?
'Does derfyn byth
    i'w fawl i fod,
  Caiff glod
      yn bêr ddi-boen.

Dros waelion rai o ddynol ryw,
  Bu farw'r cyfiawn Un;
Rhyfeddwn byth
    ei aberth gwiw -
  O'i fodd fe roes ei Hun.

Teilwng yw'r Oen yn nef y nef
  O bob rhyw barch a bri;
Ei ras a'i Enw hawddgar Ef
  A lanwo'n daiar ni.

Tôn [MC 8686]: Tallis's Ordinal
    (Thomas Tallis c.1505-85)

Let us render acclaim and praise
    to the worthy Jesus,
  In a holy Hallelujah;
The vast depths of his free love
  Are the delightful theme of song.

Who can but rendering acclaim
  Freely to the gentle Lamb?
There shall never be any
    ending to his praise,
  He shall have acclaim
      sweetly without pain.

For the base kind of human kind,
  The righteous One did die;
Let us wonder forever
    at his worthy sacrifice -
  Voluntarily he gave himself.

Worthy is the Lamb in the heaven of heaven
  Of every kind of reverence and renown;
His grace and his beautiful name
  Fill our earth.
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion
