I'r Arglwydd rhowch a rhowch yn chwyrn
Rhowch i'r Arglwydd a rhowch yn chwyrn

(Salm 29 - Yn amser tymhestl a tharanau)
1,2,(3),4.
Rhowch i'r Arglwydd, a rhowch yn chwyrn,
  Chwi, blant y cedyrn, foliant;
Cydnabyddwch ei barch a'i nerth,
  Mor brydferth, a'i ogoniant.

Rhoddwch i enw'r Arglwydd glod,
  Heb orfod mwy mo'ch cymhell;
Addolwch Arglwydd yr holl fyd,
  Mor hyfryd yw ei babell.

Llais yr Arglwydd, pan fyddo llym,
  A ddengys rym a chyffro;
A llais yr Arglwydd
    a fydd dwys,
  Fel y bo
      cymhwys ganddo.

Yr Arglwydd rydd i'w bobl nerth,
  Drwy brydferth gyfanneddwch;
Yr Arglwydd rydd
    ei bobl y'mhlith
  Ei fendith,
      a hir heddwch.

               - - - - -

I'r Arglwydd rhowch, a rhowch yn chwyrn,
  Chwi feibion cedyrn foliant;
A chydnabyddwch ei fawr nerth,
  Mor brydferth ei ogoniant.

I enw'r Arglwydd rhowch y glod,
  Heb orfod mwy eich cymmell;
Addolwch Arglwydd yr holl fyd;
  Mor hyfryd yw ei babell!

Yr Arglwydd gynt yn benaeth oedd
  Ar y llifddyfroedd gerwin;
Ar Arglwydd fu,
    Ef etto sydd,
  A byth a fydd
      yn Frenin.

Tôn [MS 8787D]: Affrica (<1835)

(Psalm 29 - In time of tempest and thunder)

Give to the Lord, and give swiftly,
  Ye, children of the strong, praise;
Acknowledge his reverence and his strength,
  So beautiful, and his glory.

Give to the name of the Lord acclaim,
  Without needing any more urging;
Worship the Lord of the whole world,
  How lovely is his tend.

The voice of the Lord, when it is sharp,
  Shall show force and stir up;
And the voice of the Lord
    will be intense,
  As is fitting
      for him.

The Lord will give to his people strength,
  Through beautiful fellowship;
The Lord will give
    his people, together with
  His blessing,
      and long peace.

                 - - - - -

To the Lord render, and render swiftly,
  Ye strong sons, praise;
And acknowledge his great strength,
  So beautiful his glory.

To the name of the Lord render the acclaim,
  With no more need for compunction;
Worship the Lord ye whole world;
  So delightful is his tent!

The Lord of old the Chief was
  Over the rough flood-waters;
The Lord he was,
    he still is,
  And forever shall
      be King.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion
(PSAL. XXIX)

 1 Ye princes that in might excel,
     your grateful sacrifice prepare;
   God's glorious actions loudly tell,
     his wondrous pow'r to all declare.

 2 To his great Name fresh altars raise,
     devoutly due respect afford;
   Him in his holy temple praise,
      where he's with solemn state adored.

 4 How full of power his voice appears!
     With what majestic terror crowned!
 5 Which from their roots
       tall cedars tears,
     and strews their
         scattered branches round.

10 God rules the angry floods on high;
     his boundless sway shall never cease;
11 His people he'll
       with strength supply,
     and bless his own
         with constant peace.
