'R oedd yn llaw Gabriel
ddirfawr faen,
Teip eglur iawn o Babilon:
Saint a Phrophwydi llawenhaen',
Fe ddial Duw eu cam ar hon.
Uwchben y môr y safei'n synn,
Y maen fe'i soddodd yn y lli';
Gan dweud, Surth Babel fawr, fel hyn,
Ac ni cheir mwy 'mo honi hi.

There was in Gabriel's hand
an enormous stone,
A very clear type of Babylon:
Let saints and prophets rejoice,
God will avenge their wrong with this.
Above the sea he stood astonishingly,
The stone he sank in the flood;
Saying, "Great Babel shall fall, thus,
And she shall no more be found."

In Gabriel's hand
a mighty stone
Lies, a fair type of Babylon
"Prophets, rejoice, and, all ye saints,
God shall avenge your long complaints."
He said, and dreadful as he stood,
He sunk the millstone in the flood:
"Thus terribly shall Babel fall;
Thus, and no more be found at all."
