Pa bryd y caf, O Arglwydd cu,
Gennyt le
Yn y ne'
I oesi gydâ'r Iesu?
Pa bryd y caf fi ganu yng Nghanaan,
Le nid oes
Poen na loes?
I drigo, teg yw'r drigfan!
Pa bryd daw'r deyrnas
i mi gael dirnad,
Beth yw bod
Dan gysgod,
Yn gorwedd yn dy gariad?
Iesu, agor, Dwysog d'wisol,
Ddrws y nen
Led y pen:
A gwna ni'n un â'th bobol.

Pryd y caf, O! Arglwydd Iesu,
Hyfryd le
Yn y ne'
Gennyt i drigiannu?
Pryd y caf fi ganu yng Nghanaan,
Le nid oes
Poen na loes?
O! mor deg yw'r drigfan!
Pryd y caf fi, Arglwydd, ddirnad
Beth yw bod
Dan dy nod -
Gorwedd yn dy gariad?
Iesu, agor, Dwysog dwyfol,
Ddrws y nen
Led y pen:
Gwna fi o'r nifer nefol.

When may I get, O dear Lord,
From thee a place
In heaven
To spend an age with Jesus?
When may I get to sing in Canaan,
Where there is no
Pain or anguish,
To dwell, fair is the residence!
When will the kingdom come
for me to get to comprehend
What it is to be
Under thy shadow,
Lying in thy love?
Jesus, open, chosen Prince,
The doors of heaven
Wide open,
And make us one with thy people.

When may I get, O Lord Jesus,
A delightful place
In heaven
With thee to reside?
When may I get to sing in Canaan,
Where there is no
Pain or anguish?
O how fair is the dwelling-place!
When may I get, Lord, to comprehend
What it is to be
Under thy mark -
To lie in thy love?
Jesus, open, divine Prince,
The doors of heaven
Wide open:
Make me one of the heavenly number.
