P'le mae'r hen awelon hyfryd
Deimlais gynt wrth daro i maes?
P'le mae'r hen brofiadau melus
Gefais gynt wrth orsedd gras?
P'le mae'r sêl a'r cariad cyntaf?
P'le mae'r mawl a
dyblu'r gân?
P'le mae'r sŵn seraphaidd nefol,
Oedd yn denu 'mryd yn lân?
O! fy Nuw, a'm tirion Arglwydd!
Rho'r cawodydd pur i lawr,
I ireiddio f'eiddil ysbryd,
Sydd yn sychlyd iawn yn awr:
Dyro'r dylanwadau nefol,
Enyn bob rhyw ddwyfol ddawn;
Rho dy gariad a'th ymgeledd,
Difa'r llygredd
sy' ynwy'n llawn.
William Williams 1717-91
Tôn [8787D]: Prydain (<1890) gwelir: O fy Nuw a'm tirion Arglwydd Tyred Ysbryd santeiddiolaf |
Where are the lovely old breezes
I once felt while striking forth?
Where are the old sweet experiences
I once had at the throne of grace?
Where is the zeal and the first love?
Where is the praise and
repeating the song?
Where is the heavenly, seraphic sound,
That was attracting my attention up?
O my God, and my tender Lord!
Send down the pure showers,
To anoint my feeble spirit,
Which is very thirsty now:
Grant thy heavenly heavenly influences,
Kindle every kind of divine gift;
Give thy love and thy help,
Destroy the corruption
that is fully in me.
